I believe the fans would vote with their hard earned cash whether Roger and Brian's efforts would be scraping the barrel.
I believe Roger and Brian probably don't have the motivation to finish these outtakes due to there associated projects, this tribute band, the film about the band, WWRY and now even enjoying at long last the hard earned adulation of their peers and the wider music audience with all these awards belatedly bestowed on the band. Or another theory perhaps John's reluctance to participate maybe another factor as he is a big part othe band's sound. I only speak for myself and hope they reconsider there decision, as any product with Freddie would sell sell sell!!!
I also heard there was a full vocal of Rock It sung by Freddie, as I am sure he must have laid down vocals  for the tracks Roger and Brian sang lead vocals which could have brought dimension and added dynamism to these tracks.
That's my tuppence.

Why would you concern yourselves with some ancient low quality recordings with the old faggot, when there are so many fresh new things to beenjoyed? Forget old demo's, we want more musicals, collaborations with Gaga, Beyonce, Britney, Anita Dobson, 5ive and, if possible, a concept album with Adele.

I have this great idea for a concept about a society where rock 'n' roll is out of fashion and forbidden, and two young kids called Elt Benton and Brooke Greggs try to bring it back. In order to do this, they must somehow manage to convince a young bespectacled wizard to throw a ring into a mountain top, and turn two nondescript ageing ex-rockers into pigeons so they can fly up and take a dump on a Freddie Mercury statue. All this while trying to avoid their mortal enemy, "The-Spoilsport-Who-Shall-Not-Be-Named-Except-When-He-Cashes-A-Royalty-Paycheck". Then they all  go on a quest for The One Boxset and live happily ever after, except those who were dead to begin with. Instant joy, even if i do say so myself.

I'm not sure if it's a fair way of putting things, dear Fireplace. Some fans just said they are happy Queen will not attempt to create a new album from scrapes of songs ones tried in the studio and left alone. I read through what fans wrote and I have not come across any suggestions that they'd rather prefer a new 'Britney duet' or something. And no-one said they don't want to hear archive material with the old faggot either.

In a creative point of view, they have retired a few years ago. Look at how other artists are still going strong and are full of energy (Springsteen new album and tour at 62).
Here we are begging for some songs that were recorded over 20 years ago. Brian and Roger don't seem to care. Collecting awards, playing WWRY over and over and promoting a musical and organizing talent shows is the core business now.  Where has the creativity gone? Why record new songs, why do live shows if you can have it the easy way.

They could've done so much more and it could've been done so much better, if there was genuine passion for music and fans.

Respect to John for quitting at the right moment. He knew where things were going, and stepped out.

I like the overall feel of your post, but I also think that Bri and Rog did try to leave Queen behind and do their own thing, but it simply didn't work. Let's not forget, music biz is not the easiest one and neither of them is Bruce Springsteen either, although WE might appreciate them more in terms of musicianship. For many years I also agreed with what you wrote about John, but recently I do miss his involvement on some projects.

"scraping the barrel."

Yeah. Q Extravaganza is not "scraping the barrel."

They're like: We've never said there'll be a new album. We said that we're listenning to old demos with Freddie's vocals.

The problem with the written word is that the writer's original intention sometimes simply does not come across. In this case, just to be perfectly clear, it was sarcasm. The LAST thing I want is more pop-collaborations and more musical stuff, I'd prefer even the most crappy sounding demo with Freddie. I would never refer to Freddie as "the old faggot", except in sarcasm. His art and vivaciousness are sorely missed, all the more in comparison to aforementioned collaborations.

Yes, I did get the sarcasm in your post, I simply don't know if there was any need for it. Nevermind.

I'm really disappointed. I thought things were looking up because new material was being unearthed, instead of constant compilations *cough* cow manure *cough*. Instead, they say they're working on the '83 Jackson collaberation demos. Er... wait, don't two of those three demos already exist in bootleg form? (Note the sarcasm in that previous sentence) Why, yes I believe they do! And - correct me if I'm wrong here - I think the Jackson-vocal version of There Must Be More to Life Than This has already been given an official release on one of his boxsets. USELESS.

He says before flying out to judge some absolute bullshit Queen x factor shite.

The fucking moron.
I understand what you INTEND TO MEAN.... BUT... there's a clear distinction in the CONTEXT of the expression.

Scraping the barrel is about product. Your qualm is with their focus and intent. I.e. angered they won't be releasing anything for you. The X-factor type shit...that comparison is inaccurate as well. They merely asked for people to audition. This wasn't broadcast for ratings etc. nor to ...woops... it WAS shilling old product. But hey, PINK FLOYD has an "authorized" tribute band. They do very well.

These guys are expecting to "hang it up" soon. I've got no problem with them doing this. Hopefully it's a fitting tribute to ...... THEMSELVES.

still, i think it's sorta ridiculous going out and dressing up like an old time act.

scratch that,.... VERY ridiculous.

Unless it was done as a humorous "one-off" joke.

I saw the Smashing Pumpkins open a show at Dodgers Stadium, dressed up as the BEATLES. The screen was in Black and White etc... that was a tribute. a One-off. Dressing up in a leotard is just kinda weird... these days (and THOSE days as well)

Meh. They can do whatever they like. I haven't bought a Queen album in over 6 years... and that's just strange. I used to collect their stuff... even have a toy chevy with NOTW artwork all over it.

You're wrong. They've never been officially released. A QZ-er had the decency to inform me that the MJ+FM songs were copied from some friends of Fred's cassettes. (people can't keep things a secret)
