Assuming Queen Toured Innuendo...

What do you think the average setlist would contain? Forgive me if there's a thread about this already...I found a thread similar to this but it was mainly about touring The Miracle. Its my first thread, Queens my all time favorite band, goo to meet everyone (:

Assuming Queen took a break from touring and returned to the road in 91, having NOT toured The Miracle and used this tour as more of back to the routine/touring hiatus ender, what would the setlist look like, if they did the normal 24-25 songs? (Wembley had 28 tracks altogether, I'm putting the reasonable songs together here.)

1.Innuendo(For some reason this seems like a reasonable opener...its a great opener on the album, why not in tour?)
2.Tie Your Mother Down(Hard rocking classic...I doubt they'd play two new tracks back to back)
3.I'm Going Slightly Mad(After a "this is a new number" speech from Freddie)
4.Seven Seas Of Rhye

I honestly think that TSMGO would've closed this tour....the song doesn't fit better anywhere else on the list then here. It urks me most of these songs were never played live....imagine how great this show would've been!

Within half a song, Freddie would've been pale, pasty, green in complexion and vomiting from the strain. Subsequently confined to a sickbed, Brian would have to employ some quick thinking and play some songs on his own.

I do think some of those tracks would make it, as the were written at time with Freddie's illness and that was the most influential sourse for some tracks from the last two albums with Freddie alive.

I think the show must go would feature earlier in the set because of the high notes. Unless it would be played in 'D'

OMG not his rehash again........listen, Queen, and I mean all four members stopped touring in 1986, this as band called Queen! What later happenend was Roger and Brian with some friends, okay sometimes with a superb Paul Rodgers. But it wasn't Queen hè! The so called what if, and what as......nice for yourself, put it on a word document and read it over and over again.......

The utter tripe to which you refer is known as speculation. I find it nice to speculate on which songs would have been done live, how/would they have worked etc. I don't see anything wrong with that

well as queen tours were usually a "greatest hits sprinkled with new album" setlist there's not much room for inspired lists
...so i'll throw a new slant into this
scrap the fucking vocal improve/brian guitar solo bollox that bloated the middle of most 80s queen setlists and replace them with something different:
by 91 there'd been some solo projects about so how about taking out the middle 20 mins and replacing it with each band-member taking a lead of their own solo stuff and the others backing?

This is ALL speculation.

Sure, they didn't tour The Miracle, but whos to say if Freddie never became ill, they would have?

Of course if Freddie never became ill, you could imagine they would've toured into the 90's, although most of the songs off of Innuendo would have been scrapped or massively edited altogether, the setlist I popped out of my head was, having said, if Freddie was never ill, Innuendo was the same cd released in 91 and they toured it.

I think there would have been a huge fight prior to the tour kicking off. Brian loads the set-list with mostly his tunes and begins to fume when John and Roger want to mix in Hot Space tunes.

Upon taking the stage for the first show, John has secretly taken the Red Special and puts his bass on Brian's guitar stand. Brian, not knowing what this strange four stringed instrument is, begins mashing chords in the lower register.

Meanwhile, John starts playing the HELL out of the Red Special, better than Brian ever had. Freddie and Roger, upon seeing this, start getting ideas. Suddenly, the crowd starts chanting "We Want Danny". A disheveled Brian May storms off the stage never to be heard from again.

Queen reform as a three-piece with Freddie taking over the bass duties, since he can play any instrument with ease. Their next album goes 9X Platinum, due in part to the 5 top ten singles and they make more money than they ever have previously. "Boogie Sunshine Fever" replaces "Bohemian Rhapsody" and "Another One Bites The Dust" as their biggest hit ever. Freddie goes straight and marries Elizabeth Taylor, but she lets him fool around with Montserrat every once in a while.

I think roger wouldn't have done any gigs with queen after 1987 as he'd be hanging out of Debbie Leng. Much more fun to play with than the other 3.

freddie gets sick of rock n roll and takes a longgggg sabbatical from 1995-2010
but then comes back for one last "farewell tour 2012" and ends up singing a Brian May influenced setlist that includes a a complete rendition of "The Cosmos Rocks"

- so much so that on the "audience recorded" bootlegs you can clearly hear some c*nt opining "what's this sh*t?" before half of the songs

...now that would be funny
