can i see if i have this right?.
a group of collectors get together to share/exchange very rare songs on the understanding that it stays within that group.
the songs have not been released and are only avaliable to this group(making them even more rare).
and one person decides to release the songs for public listening after the groups normal condition is,,,,,just to share within the group.
and the members of the group have paid sums of money to ensure the songs stay within the group.
if this is my understanding of this group, then surley the person who shared the songs is wrong to share the songs.
now i dont care whether the songs are rare or not,but to share something that has (what i presume) an understanding that they wont be made public is not very nice or curties to the other group members.
i understand some of the feelings about, hell yes we got some rare stuff here, but people have paid good money to collect this stuff and as such are pissed of that they are being shared willy nilly.
this kind of rare stuff dose not interest me as im not a serious collector, but there are many who will grab them with both hands.
as for the sharer ,i think this is wrong and a bit underhand to the other group members.
i hope i have the facts correct..sorry if i have not.

Too bad this happened. Even if I haven't downloaded a single torrent, FLAC or MP3 in the last 3 or 4 years or so, I sympathize with the people who hunt for this material and sometimes pay a good amount of money to get it, only for someone to release it for free afterwards.

This is not about hoarders and leachers, heroes or villians. If somebody trusts you with something and you make a promise and don't live up to that promise, well, that's wrong.

Think about it, in order to be considered a "hoarder" you must first get a hold of the material. Doing this requires research, time, effort and -more often than not- Money.

Around the time Q+PR first toured I got a hold of a couple of audience recordings which were not freely available (at the time, at least) and I kept them for myself only because I wouldn't have had access to them if those people hadn't trusted me in the first place.

By the way (sorry for the long rant) I never thought I, who started being a Queen fan in 1992 (10 yrs old), would feel OLD within the Queen fandom!

"In my days" most of the material was not freely available and one mouse click away. The only Queen concerts I had heard or seen were the official releases. I didn't see Hammersmith '75 until around 2005!

Now it's all on You Tube but I rarely see it. It feels cheap... pointless.

David.
If you're adamant you are not sharing recordings you acquired from the group, then you won't be sharing anything else that was "exclusive" will you?
I hope you can see how suspicious it looks that these recordings are only now seeing the light of day AFTER you left the group...

He says he just coincidentally happened to pick up all of his goods from other sources after he joined the group.

You need to learn to read ;)

I think JSS summed it up nicely: "....it's not about the music.....".

Perhaps that's the problem. It appears now I won't be getting some rare releases that I wouldn't have been getting in the first place, someone's calling his lawyer for being called "a cunt" (if I got a dime for every time...etc.), The Real Wizard calls people with nicknames cowards (so apparently his was born with that name), and though 99% of the Queenzoners have not been made privy to this KGB-elite-super-top-secret whatchamcallit we get to enjoy all the ensuing dirt and are told off for not contributing to something we didn't know existed in the first place.

Kindly take your fighting to the schoolyard outside and let me be a mooching, begging, ignorant, common, non-contributing, decidedly un-royal & un-loyal, minnow-in-all-matters-Queen cunt in peace.I was just fine as long as I didn't know.

Best of luck and thank you.

I will not download this.

Thank you very much to the "elite hoarders" for all the shares and all the effort, time and money you put into them. Without you I wouldn't have gigabytes on my harddisks.

I won't download this.

Thanks for uploading but please play fair to another collectors.

And YES - without "elitist" collectors we would have nothing on tracker so I can't offer them nothing but big THANK YOU for their kindness.

This situation closely resembles this song, therefore I have no other comment.
