Oh and one more thing: I dunno the black dudes name...but heard him once before
He's like Randy Jackon (not the talented one related to Michael)
Reminded me of a bit from AMAZON WOMEN OF THE MOON...
Just not AS bad,...

As for tonight (Thursday) - i thought the Queen Extravaganza, such as it, did quite a respectable job with Somebody To Love. Marc Martel was in strong voice, though a little raspier than his usual clear tone (probably rehearsing the CRAP out of them these days) and it was fun to see a pro like Jeff Scott Soto ripping out in the background. Plus, despite what RT had said, he and Brian DID appear at the end and join in. First public performance for QE, first time for most of them on LIVE, PRIMETIME, NETWORK TV... impressive considering all that... and i quite enjoyed it.
(moving a copy of this to a STL on IDOL specific thread...)

I was pleasantly surprised by the QE - they are obviously all competent musicians, but they also seemed to 'gel' and didn't seemed forced or like a bunch of individuals as is often the case with these types of tribute acts or bands put together. The feel and genuineness of the band was pretty right for me - considering they are right at the start of their journey they have a lot to look forward to.
Great to see BM and RT too, and whilst done purists will disagree with the treatment of the end of the song, my opinion is that it worked really well, and good to see that they can sti do something fresh with the music whilst keeping the core of it intact.
Man, I wish I was in the QE - I was born for that drumming job!!

In a related matter, the official Queen Extravaganza says that the band will be playing "In The Lap of the Gods" live on the tour - my guess is that they've gone the usual route of getting amateurs to write their press release, coupled with poor proof reading, and there should be a '...Revisited' on the end of that. Still, we'll see![/QUOTE]
As on wembley In the lap of the gods is the revisited version but they still didnt put revisited also lol.

Now that I've seen it I can comment. I was impressed by QE, and all the contestants were appalling.
It's listed as Lap Of The Gods on the official Wembley? That's odd, you'd think the people who created the song would take some care to distinguish it from an entirely different one with a similar title.
EDIT - No, it's definitely printed as Revisited there. Nonetheless, I doubt they're playing In The Lap Of The Gods, it's likely that revisited is what they meant.
