Hi just wondering what you thought of Seal's performance of Who Wants To Live Forever at the Freddie Mercury Tribute concert?
He is a judge on the t.v show The Voice in Australia and a guy sang We Are The Champions which I thought was pretty good but he didn't get selected to the next round. Seal said if you are going to sing a Queen song you have to be good or something along those lines.

Hah, I don't think his rendition of Who Wants To Live Forever was anything that could be described as good, so he's not really one to talk
I thought he sang it well enough anyway, he made brian cry at the end though!
I thought he did 'OK'. Which, if I'm remembering correctly, is pretty much how he described his own performance that day.
He was light-hearted about it actually - saying, when he first attempted to sing like Freddie, he felt "I can't do this, it will ruin my career" because no one could come close to Freddie, etc.
I remember the interview with him... it was pretty funny how he put it.

I was there and he was piss poor..
It was OK, IMO. Nice arrangement.
I think walrus could have done much better.
Thanks for all your comments. It must of been great to be there Billy Bob.
hahaha abc1 :)
He re-recorded it for the Videio/DVD release though.
Most of the Tribute Concert's vocals were re-recorded for the official releases I think. For example, Brian's vocal on Too Much Love on the official versions is pretty much flawless, if a bit shaky, while on the audience recording you can hear that he's way off key at the start (can't blame him, among the first times he'd sung lead vocals live)
I just felt sad on the day, such a loss and the end of a band I Loved. Def Lep were crappy poor sound.George was the best on the day
Seal, like many of the singers that day, was awful.
Any links to the original audience/live feed versions?
I just have the 4hr VHS and pretty lame (considering the time allotment and two discs) DVD version which omits the entire first act.

There's a full length radio broadcast out there - I presuime that's the live feed
