Actually sounds like quite a heavy rock song.
A shame they mixed it the way they did.
Why would they release the mix as it is now and not release a mix like this - one in which you can actually make out the bass, drums and guitar?

While on the subject of Under Pressure, I was reading in the Bowie book 'Any Day Now' the Spiders From Mars drummer Woody Woodmansey said that he immediately recognised the melody of Under Pressure as from a tune they tried out for the Ziggy Stardust album (sessions from late '71 into early '72). I have a big collection of Ziggy out takes and nothing seems too familiar so I'll keep looking. Interesting titbit though I thought.
