Does anybody like Coldplay

Have tried without success to like their music and have watched some highlight clips of their concerts but I just cant get into them like other artists I like

Because they are shit.

There's absolutely nothing wrong with Coldplay. They are middle of the road, consistent pop/rock music.

This suits a lot of people's musical needs, but not everyone.

musically, they're very good although CM has a vocal that's very difficult to like

that aside, i love the song "Fix You"...the gradual build up, the stunning but simple lyrics and the memories i personally attach to it

I like Clocks if only for the music and not the lyrics but thats really the only one

intially but they have gone the way of U2

He has a nauseating, dull voice. He's made a career out of Diet U2 and songs with lyrics like 'wooooooah' and 'oh oooooooh' in the chorus.

They really are putrid.

Meh. Not really a fan, but they make ok music.

Yes people like Coldplay, otherwise they wouldn't exist. Just not here.

..Anyways,.."Yellow" was everywhere for a year.... But after that, I doubted everyghing after hearing "when I ruled the world" or whatever the fuck its called.


Seemed like a forumula. Blame the record company.

I like "the scientist" but for its lyrics.

By now, even THIS discussion of "coldplay" is relegated to "old farts"... So I don't know much else to say.


Maybe one day I'll listen to an ALBUM and discover they are giants of art and musicianship. Till then, I don't like them.

They're all that was wrong with those 3 years they were popular, and tons of cheap hammmy eighth note piano phrasing "bands" came out.





Someone bring up "I want to break Free" if u want to, I don't think It will add anything to this conversation

Presumably, yes, because they are still in the business - this implies that there must be people who like them. I have yet to see empirical evidence of the existence of such people, though.

The multitrack of Fix You is out there somewhere. Really beautiful just vocal and organ.

But apart from that they are crap.

sounds to me like you want some afficionado to explain to you what you're missing, then you'll go away happy "liking" coldplay because someone told you to

as regards you "just not on here" comment, think you will find that music fans will be as many that like as don't like as couldn't give a toss....on any music forum

Coldplay fans to me are like bigfoot. Everyone says they exist but I have never met one:D
