Both bands are really annoying. They can do some really catchy stuff, like U2's "One", but there's not much musical depth there and so it's all a bit pedestrian and mundane. Check out how musically out of his depth The Edge was on It Might get Loud.

Meh. They're all right.
'Politik' and 'Violet Hill' are great songs.
However, Coldplay suffers from being too predictable and producing songs that have that same U2 sound.

Damn, those really are good tunes.
I do like them. Not really a fan, but I think they make fine music to suit certain people. At times I feel like listening them if I'm in the right mood.
