It sounds really interesting and exciting. Wonder if they'll decide to show the concert in Ukrainian cinemas.
This made my day!

It sounds like they're going to make an even more jumbled editing (by cutting in an extra 25 minutes of documentary footage), it has a really silly name, and the cinematic release is taking up the space of their September release...
Some people think I'm overly negative, but this press release sounds pretty underwhelming to me.
The 25 minutes is exactly the length of the material cut from the VHS release. Sounds like it's going to be the complete concert.
Live in Hammersmith 2012

Quote from the press release says "this special cinema event includes 25 minutes of never-seen-before footage, following the band from just after their legendary performance at Live Aid at Wembley in the United Kingdom, through the year leading up to the concert in Budapest."
It says absolutely nothing about concert footage.

Does it?

Well I'm also pretty critical when it comes to Queen releases, but in the case they do it "properly"... yes, it CAN be very interesting, but we should wait till we see the final "product"
I agree that it CAN be interesting, but my definition of "interesting" includes the complete concert, and that isn't mentioned on this press release.
Without the complete footage it's less than an underwhelming release.
At least that's 'proof' rather than manic speculation.. I'm still not going to get my hopes up
Just received my copy of Rhythm magazine, in which Roger confirms his new solo album, and hopefully accompanying tour, will come in 2012. I'll believe this once it's actually on the release schedule, and tickets are on sale, but that's about as close to 'proof' as we'll get for now.
Keep in mind that Hammersmith 1975 was supposed to be released sometime in 2009 if I remember correctly. They normally announce these things and then never acknowledge them again.

To be honest, I think NOTHING will be released from the Queen catalogue (even when the live re-re-releases were originally planned for this year). Simply because Brian and Roger are spending their time with Adam whatshisname.
Adam Bolton!!
what is going to be released for sure this year?
3. about 3,000 UK prisoners
2. two new green day albums
1. more pointless queen re-issues

Honestly, I've near enough given up on a worthwhile Queen release. Nothing in the last four years except the Cosmos Rocks album with Paul Rodgers and Brian's work with Kerry Ellis on the Anthems album has yielded any good results. All that's been done is reissues, compilations, more reissues, and more compilations! Unless something good which has been definitely confirmed comes up, I'm throwing in the towel in believing. If any ideas for yet another compilation is going through the minds of QPL, let me say this: YOU CAN'T DO ANY MORE, SINCE YOU'VE SQUEEZED THE SONGS DRY! Even the Deep Cuts volumes were a tad flat, to be perfectly honest.
I think Budapest will be released
There have been a few that have been officially announced though. From what I understand more to come.
mm, interesting, but i reckon we'll getthe hammersmith gig release, along with live killers at some point. ROGER TAYLORs new album, and the freddie/jackson stuff....thats all i reckon
