Looks lossy in EAC by the way...
If it is vhs sourced, which it looks like it is then It will be lossy, but Traders little helper says it's not mpeg, so...?
Is TLH not reliable for analysis?

did you buy all the reels from the UK based seller? Saw them too, but they were very expensive if I remember correctly.
Just one. The seller promised me he will say me when he gets the rest of his tape transferred and I never heard from him again. Now I know why, Mark made a better offer :-)

Just fluked on it on ebay tbh, I spend more time on there than is healthy:-)
The mp3 sample did sound cleaner than the 4 other samples I had so I took a risk, It paid off slightly.
I also asked the seller to contact me if he has other audio or video, I have a feeling he might have stuff a gen or two better than what is shared here. I could be proved very wrong though.
That's the fun in it.
I would urge anybody buying reel to reel tapes to exercise extreme caution, people are taking advantage.

MERCI BEAUCOUP

Hmmm.
I too had contact with him, but with the exception of a couple of recordings which he said would be added later, there was nothing that wasn't available on video. I came to the conclusion that he's probably played a blinder and copied some videos onto reel tapes, spun a yarn and collected a cool £300+ from everyone who bid.
Almost wish I'd thought of it....

I always look at the spectrum of the wav file.
EAC is reliable.

Agreed. If it cuts off around 16 kHz, it has been digitally altered beyond repair.
