Agreed. George Michael could never belt out TYMD or FBG.
I think Elton would be a good choice. He can still sing well. He has the range & the chops. Plus, the keyboard/piano situation would be solved.
Will ot happen???

Elton has the range??? Elton convincingly belting out TYMD is as improbable as George Michael doing it.

I'd pick Marc Martel (shock!) but only if they record new material. I'd be interested to see how MM would do singing Queen-ish type of songs where he wouldn't have Freddie as a "template" for how to sing the song, and where the audience wouldn't be able to make direct comparisons between him and Freddie. Also, some of MM's own music already sounds influenced by Queen so a collaboration could be interesting on a songwriting level too. (It could also be a disaster but it would be an interesting experiment...)

If they just want to play the back catalogue, then they're kind of becoming their own tribute band, which in itself could diminish the Queen brand/legacy/whatever whether they stick with Adam Lambert or change singers every year.

If they want to go with an already established name, then I'd pick Tom Chaplin.

Chaplin is good and far better suited than AL for sure. I am still hoping they will wake up and take on Marc Martel. I agree, a collaboration on some new songs with him would be very interesting and I seriously doubt it would be disasterous. Any one of you who didn't get to experience QE live should do so if given the chance. Would be thrilling to hear more of the back catalogue with Martel, Roger and Brian doing vocals. I know it's too much to wish for.

Marc Martel is one of the singers of Queen Extravaganza. Mooghead- I'm surprised you didn't know that.

And he doesn't play an upright bass...

To go out as ''May & Taylor', rather than billed as Queen would be the way to go, which would enable them to then pick any number of singers to perform the catalogue and hopefully any new stuff too, without being accused of cashing in on or sullying the Queen name.

Won't happen though

It's all bollocks, the job has already been given to Jessie J., who will tour under the name "Queen + Jessie J. Without Queen".
