I remember reading somewhere, that 'Tear it up' was going to be a released as a single, and was pulled at the last minute so 'Hammer to Fall' could be released as the 4th single from 'The Works'!I also remember it being mentioned that a video was shot, can anybody confirm this please? Its my favourite song from the album and would love to hold on to some hope that a video was shot, and Rhys Thomas will find it hidden away in Jim Beach's outside toilet or something!lol.

I think I also saw somewhere that Man on the Prowl was going to be released but replaced by Thank God It's Christmas.
Tear it Up is your favorite on the album? But...
Ah, whatever.

Try watching Tear it Up performed live then White Queen live from the early years. Its hard for me to believe its the same Freddie. Such is the contrast.

'Tear it Up" would have been a better release for the U.S market!

I liked Tear It Up on the Magic Tour, the Works tour and album versions were pretty dry though. I think the dull 80's sound that it has completely undermines it's hard rock sound.

Does anybody know about a video being shot?

There is a non-live performance from the 1984 Montreux Golden Rose Pop Festival. Queen mimed four songs including Tear It Up. Perhaps that's where the rumour originated? Or maybe if it was going to be a single, that performance was to be the video?

I heard it was filmed the same night as 'Hammer to Fall',Brussells i think?

I think if they would have shot a video they would not have created the cut-together video for the queen rocks video tape.

Don't know about Tear it up but Man on the Prowl was definately going to be a single. There are many promo copies of it with the same catalog number as Thank God it's Christmas (QUEEN5), both from the UK and Ireland at least.

In my opinion 'MOTP' was the worst song on the album,i dont think it would have charted very well, and i dont think it would have sounded much better live, only my opinion though!

Tear It Up is the weakest song on the album IMHO. The one I nearly always skip.
