Hello everybody, I'm working on "The Game" at the moment. Here are some of the songs I've done so far. Only three left for the original ten album songs.

Both songs were taken from the "extras" part of the album.

Here's "Play the Game", a version without fade out nor fade in. It features new vocals mixes, new panning movements, more balanced instruments (every instrument was very loud), a cleaner sound, and a true ending.

Tried to give to the song some ethereal feeling in some parts, and give more strength to the begining "pum!" at the first "It's so *PUM*EEEEASY", and also to the bridge cosmic part.

Enjoy it!

And here I let you "Another One Bites the Dust (Original Tempo)". It sounds powerful and so much cleaner to me. I tried to reach a pop drums sound, give a new face wash to the inverted piano and guitar sounds, rebalance the volume levels, and eliminate abrupt tempo issues.

Enjoy again!

Bravo dude. Really cool. Interesting way to open PtG. I really love the cold ending. AOBtD has never sounded better to my ears. Love the sparseness and the heavy verb. Great feel. One thing that's always bugged me about this song, and it's really trivial but..., that last kick drum hit. Always sounded like a bad edit or something to me. Here, you've made it blend in better and added the verb on the end to envelope it. Sounds much better.

Can't wait for the whole thing.

BeatMichael, thank you very much for your response!! I'm really happy by knowing you liked the songs. I know about the bad edited ending you're talking about, and it gave me always the same feeling. The problem was that there was an extra hi-hat hit. And PtG always sounded good to me, but the instruments were all too loud and made a forced ball of sound. I tried to clean it and give a more natural sound.

Anyway, this album is one of the best sounding in the entire discography.

Good stuff, as usual. Your mixes have begun taking the place of the original songs on my Ipod, especially your version of It's A Hard Life, Hammer To Fall, and The Miracle Pizzicato.

Keep it up. Looking forward to more!

Great, I'm really looking forward to listening to what you've done. It's the main reason I hang about this forum now. As the previous post said, your mixes of the albums are now my preferred ones, you have a great talent, thanks again.

Like the mix of PTG, and the end of Bites is a definite improvement. Looking forward to the album, and I agree, it is the best sounding Queen album. I'll be interested to hear what you do with Save Me, as I've always thought the guitar solo was slightly 'buried' on the CD versions, compared to the original vinyl (there, I'm showing my age - lol!) - would be nice to hear that screaming out of the speakers again. :)

Haystacks Calhoun II, Drmurph and Lord Fickle, thank you very much for the feedback, which make me want to keep going on. I always try to reach a better quality than the original songs, plus adding some new things. Some songs are easier than other, for example from “The Game”: PtG or SASS weren’t very hard to mix and I can say those were a pleasure, panning and giving volume levels to the stripped vocals and all of that. But NYLT, Dragon Attack or AOBtD gave me lots of problems, mainly with the drums sound or the vocals volume, like Keep Passing the Open Windows at it’s moment.

Right now I’m working with Save Me, a very very difficult song too, due acoustic guitars in some parts, panning the drums, or (like Fickle said) the buried guitar solo part, which kills an AMAZING Freddie performance in the back shouting with all his power, so I’m trying to make a fight between Brian and Freddie to be the “main protagonist”. I spent a whole night with it and still tying to find a right sound, and hopefully I'll finish it tonight and start with another.

Again, thank you very much for the responses! Just few more days and the album will be uploaded.

The drums sound very different from ones' on GHII or The Game version

Yeah, that's quite nice, Matt, but did something go wrong with the drums just at the start of the acoustic instrumental part? It sounds like RT is banging on cardboard boxes for a while there.

Just to pick up on that, and to go back to your The Works remix, the drums were inconsistent on I Go Crazy, and that track sounded like two or three different mixes stitched together. I know we're not talking about The Works here, but this just reminded me of that. Are you, perhaps, overlaying one drum track on another, which might be giving unwanted effects?

Guys, thanks for the comments. I fixed that drums issue! The problem with 'I Go Crazy' was working with the track due the different recording process, very narrow and flat drums, and hardvolume differences.
