I'm not sure why anyone has an issue with people buying/selling such items. They come up for auction online and in real live auction houses and QPL are more than able to purchase them themselves. Some studio reels being sold by an older manager recently sold at an auction house for only a thousand or so each. You would think if the band were so bothered by such activity and based on the financial worth of all those involved in QPL, they would constantly scour auctions and buy such items up.

And bought back by QPL .... They attend the auction at Omega.I was the only bidding for the ANATO reel....

of course it can be. i never understood the logic of those who saw some kind of theft in getting this kind of memorabilia. QP have the same chances (or even more) than anyone else. they surely got the money.

who knows, maybe the acetate is just the standard mix. oh.. and it's located in Russia...[/QUOTE]

love the last sentence. that should've closed the thread off nicely, but some people are more optimistic rather than realistic it seems

but while we're talking "genuine opportunities" I've got the following items for sale
Harpsichord - originally owned by Johann Sebastian Bach used exclusively for the composition of Concerto in C minor, BWV 1060 (1730-1745)
and
Galileos Galilei's Original 1609 telescope. Made of wood and leather, Galileo's telescope had a convex main lens with a concave eyepiece like the original, Dutch-made telescopes, but his version boosted the viewing power to eight-times magnification.

this is a once in a lifetime opportunity both items in one unique package - special buy-it-now price only £250,000

How could someone from Moscow get it? It's just nonsense. Although, I've heard there's a man in Moscow who does have a very big collection of Queen rarities...

I'm kinda skeptical about this guy on ebay too, and lord knows I have been caught a few times. There seems to be a inconsistent flow of rare programs coming out of Moscow, all usually in very good condition this guy has those listed too.

I doubt this listing will sell anyway, It is way over priced even if it is a unreleased version, which is still debatable. It might be re-listed at a lower price, but it still won't sell. People who own these things tend to put their own unrealistic monetary value on them.

I SERIOUSLY dobout that John (i have nothing against him anyway, i respect him as collector) have the Hangman acetate... but it´s "nice" to keep the mistery... "John the man who have the hangman acetate" sounds nice and like i said it´s good to keep a bit of mistery arround...

I've learned over time that there's not such thing as "QZ consensus"

However, There's a lot of QZ Hypocrisy

Im sure given the opportunity 99,9% of the users won't have the minimal expression of "ethics" in order to get an invaluable item of Queen Memorabilia.

So, John, you should take all the "Forum Board Bravery" as what it is... just words behind a keyboard. Real world works very differently.

Close example: Brian May , "The Nicest guy in Rock n' Roll" got old and began to rewrite history slipping convenient "credit" mistakes in latest releases

and i've seen that there's an increasingly spotlight on him in every new release

(Which makes me wonder if he just hold a huge resentment all these years, that he never could spoke because the overwhelming personality of Freddie)

so, why do we try to look like we care when in reality a lot of that comes from knowing that we would never be in that crossroad because most people here are not buying acetates everyday ?
Life is real. so real.

I know it's aside the point, but that's completely opinionated and presumptuous.

Not to mention kind of, y'know, wrong.

Although I'm not fussed either way about this, and it is quite possible someone living in Moscow ISN'T a crook, isn't the whole alternate mix thing academic since we all has the Killer Queen stems? The mystery is gone and we can all make our own.

Well if Hangman is uploaded today , noboby will mention it anymore after 2 weeks. And beggars will plead for the queen + a gib acetate... When this is upaded people will beg fOr the 2 other queen & bowie tracks (4 tracks were recorded). And so on...

True. Which is a shame. we forget how special these things were once we get them, although I still do get a little rush of disbelief when I think that we now have stuff like the early demos out offically.
