Great to finally hear a clear version. Seems like it was recorded from someone's mixing board via a device. Picks up a phone call/text towards the end.

Can't be a text - this is several years too early. But I can see now why Bowie wasn't enthusiastic about this getting released.
Of course it is a text message. The owner of this recording was recording it to WAV and his old Nokia interferred with the process
