Barry also told me in Juy 2011 (same day that Pete M brought along the real Old Lady to have a play on) that they would be made in Czechoslovakia and that they would be for sale in the next few months.....It's now 2013 and still no real facts. If you are taking what Barry says as that then great.I hope you get your Super as soon as that. They are, without doubt a fantastic guitar.
I'll wait to be proved wrong. [/QUOTE]
What happened to the original version? when did they stop making it? and why? I will call House Music and try to get some facts, but he has been very specific about the price and arrival date so we shall see...

OK here's what House Music are saying,
Prototypes now approved by Brian and given the go ahead, it will be built in the same plant as the upright Bass house music have in Czech republic, I am still awaiting final spec details but it should be either pretty much the same as the KZ version or an upgrade?? Barry will call me tomorrow with more details and first run should be ready end April

Update. had a call from Barry Moorhouse, the guitars are going into production now, but small runs first 10 or so hopefully by the end of April. The price quoted is not correct and they will be closer to £2700-£3k depending on exchange rate, however not over £3k. They are possibly a slight upgrade on the older 'Super' model in terms of the woodwork, however they will not have a lacqured neck due to the expansion of the wood, it will be a closer neck in terms of finish than that of the 'Special' and also the full Brian profile, so much thicker.
Sounds like a good 'middle' version between the Super and the Guyton which is around the £8k mark!
Got my order in....waiting....

Hmmm...........
I hope you get what you are expecting Togg. I am in no way trying to poo-poo your expectations. I know what expectation is like after all. The figure I quoted seems to be much nearer than what Baz quoted you?? I'm not a salesman!
Reality is that it could be - a little longer. April end seems a wonderful date to hope for. My assumption is that it will be a little longer? Again, I hope to be proved wrong.
No lacquered neck!!!!!!! Are you kidding me?????? That's one of 'the' features of the Old Girl!!!!
I am also interested in the 'changes' that they hope to offer from the last batch of Kaz (excellent build/made efforts.) Similar neck, great pick-ups, plastic feel....hard trem, blah, blah.....
So, I do hope that Barry is true to his word for you. Czech republic????? Ha! (Whatever it's called now...)

We shall see, the exchange rate from Japan became too high and it would have meant that the guitar would have been priced well over £3k, I understand KZ is no longer making them at all and has closed his business. The lacquered neck is an issue in some ways, but if it were produced in the same way Brian's was it would again end up being closer to the Guyton price and therefore not much of a market for them.
We shall see, if they get it close to say the finish of a custom shop strat (I have one with a lacquered neck) then it will be fine.
As for the timing, well the first 10 should be ready end of April, that doesnt mean they will be on sale... I suspect it will be May /June before they have enough to start shipping them to people we shall see.
If I can get hold of it by November I will be ok with it, I want it this year and dont mind waiting, will have a look at one before signing the deal but I suspect it will be pretty much what I am looking for.
Apparently Pete feels they are a very high quality version and maybe a bit better than before (however he has only seen prototypes so what the production run will be we will have to wait to find out.
Brian has approved them so again I have to hope he would only do that if it was a big leap up from the Special and worth £3k or thereabouts...
I think the KZ versions were wonderful, but the exchange rate started to kill it, the as the orders dropped due to the general economic climate i guess it just came to a halt.
They will be built in the same factory as the upright bass and a number of PRS guitars come from, so fingers crossed.
