I know it is almost impossible to choose just one favourite Queen song, but please do not make lists.
To start off, my favourite Queen song is March of the Black Queen. It is just so powerful, dark yet powerful. Especially when Freddie almost orders us to 'Now do the march of the black Queen'!

It's Late. It's stirring and perfect on every level a song can be. Beautiful and powerful musically, lyrically, emotionally, intellectually.

"Teo Toriatte (Let Us Cling Together" - great vocals, musicianship, and lyrics - the whole package!

Mad The Swine. I don't know why, I just love the song. Something about the way Freddie sings it, and the drums.
But, if I would have to choose a true magnum opus, I would choose Father to Son, simply for the guitar solo at the end, under the vocals. I adore the instrumentation in that song.

Up until about two years ago, my favourite song would change frequently between four songs. Those songs were, in chronological order, My Fairy King, The March Of The Black Queen, You Take My Breath Away and Long Away.
But a couple of years ago, I got the Bohemian Rhapsody multitrack and once you listen to that and realise all the work that went into it and the era they did it, then it just has to be that song. As a musician and having so much more recording and mixing power than they had at that time, it really is quite astonishing how they actually mixed it. I know it was all hands on the mixing desk, riding faders and that, so for me it is amazing how they did it all. Also for what that song did for them and for what it did to me, when I first heard it and when I used to stay in on Thursday nights as a ten year old, watching Top Of The Pops, to see 'that' video.
I know it will get overlooked as a song in this poll but it really must be the winner. BTW, anyone picking songs after The Game album....Are you having a laugh, or what?

^^^ don't understand that logic...having the multitrack is not a level playing field for comparisons.
all you have to go against then is Killer Queen
for instance, if you had multis for Somebody to Love, March of the Black Queen, Liar, It's Late and Don't Stop Me Now - i think you'd probably feel equally impressed, as those songs are as intricate and genius in different ways

Brenski, my logic is in the fact that it was such a massive hit at the time and is still respected worldwide as a masterpiece and far ahead of it's time.
Liar and Somebody to love, didn't have the same amount of work put in it, as Bo Rhap. Neither did MOTBQ. So that's what I base that on. as for
It's Late, nah. As for Don't Stop Me now? A song with a bum note in it can't be classed as their best song. In fact, it's an awful song, IMO.
I picked my favourite Queen song and said the reasons why, you can't change my mind. I marvelled at how they actually went about writing, recording, mixing and mastering it. No other song in their back catologue had as much work put into it, in my opinion. And if you are being pcky about what I have heard and haven't, then you seem to have forgotten 'In The Lap Of The Gods', cos that is the forerunner to Bo Rhap and very underated. Don't stop me now...you make my ribs ache.

you're taking my words out of context. i said - if you had the multis for those songs you'd be equally impressed.esp MOTBQ and STL
both of those songs have as much work gone into them as BoRhap - just because you can't hear it, that isn't my problem
ITLOTG was not the forerunner to BoRhap
the real embryo was the segue of Fairy Feller/Nevermore/MOTBQ

Brenski, the title of this thread was 'Most favourite Queen song and why'?
I understood that and answered it.
You didn't, you just picked on me, you still haven't mentioned your fave song and why, either.
If the title of this thread was something like, 'Prove that you are a prick', then you have won. But it wasn't. By the way there is nothing wrong with my ears, there is however something wrong with your mind. But that isn't my problem.
Wasn't the 'Cowboy song' the embryo of Bo Rhap? Or am I wrong, yet again? Yawn. Anyone who thinks DSMN, is a great song...? Says it all really, about you. With no prejudice, of course. Now leave me alone and try and annoy someone who you can really patronise.
