i'm not picking on you. i'm arguing against your reasoning. hearing the multis doesn't make for a fair comparison. if you heard the multis for every queen song that'd be different.
you haven't. one other thing - what the song did for them isn't a musical reason to like a song, surely.

my favourite song is - and always has been - Nevermore. it's an absolute thing of beauty - in every way.

by the way - this is about opinions - which are subjective.

you've made statements like:
If the title of this thread was something like, 'Prove that you are a prick', then you have won.

By the way there is nothing wrong with my ears, there is however something wrong with your mind. But that isn't my problem.

nowhere, have i stooped to insulting you. perhaps i should've because your insults are pretty amateur. but it won't. because if reacting like that is the way you behave when someone dares to disagree with your opinion, then we should all fear the day that someone dies and makes you God.

Brenski, You said to me -'just because you can't hear it, that isn't my problem'. Sounds like an insult to me? Yes of course it's about opinions and you challenged my opinion. I have no issues with you whatsoever, you make some good points on various topics on this site and I respect you for that.
I take it you are an old fogey like myself, who was there from day one, with the band? Which means we were the lucky ones, not all are as fortunate as that. That's why anything after The Game album, IMO, is not something I get excited about. A few moments, here and there, but not many.
As for your choice of 'Nevermore' yep, a truly fantastic song. I loved those little things that Freddie wrote, Lily of the Valley being a particular favourite of mine. Their early stuff was on a different planet than anyone else, IMO. I am not a fan of the Beatles, I don't have a single song of theirs, I just didn't get it. I love The Who, The Small Faces and The Kinks, but in my opinion, Queen where the finest recording band ever, not only fantastic songwriters and fantastic musicians, but the work they put in, in the studio as yet to be surpassed, by anybody. Even in the modern age where you can do absolutely anything in a recording studio now, or even your own home. Listening to all that early stuff, gets me everytime. So perhaps the only thing I am guilty of, is having a passion, for their work? I make no apology for that.

When I listen to MotBQ, I just hear so much work put into every second of the recording, writing it, playing the instruments, making sure everything is just right and doing it with such energy. Bo Rhap obviously took a ton of work as well, but everyone talks about it because that's the one that got famous. Black Queen didn't, yet to my ears it sounds like even MORE work and skill than what went into BR, as amazing as it is. If somehow multitracks for that song were released, I would be absolutely giddy. If multitracks for the entire album were released, I would probably have listening material for the rest of my life. So, for me, it's Black Queen all the way. Such an excellent piece of music.

PS: DSMN is awesome.

I thought it would be the one where Freddie sings about how much he loves Jeremy Kapone and how he's his favorite singer and so much better than that bore Borat.

I'm sorry, but I also have to mention 3 songs. Never quite sure of the order.

1. My Fairy King
2. The March of the Black Queen
3. Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy

You Take My Breath Away...

"I will find you anywhere you go
Right until the ends of the earth
I'll get no sleep until I find you
To tell you when I've found you
I love you"

Just love it...

Ogre Battle, because it rocks and has the most fantasic harmonies (and screams!). Oh, and part of it runs backwards. That's the story of my life!

Cheers,

Folks, we've got to give the award (or honour ) to Bo Rhap, for the most obvious reasons in the world, (think of any group in history who wouldn't have ate their bairns to have such an important, innovative piece of work in their canon)
But for my own personal delectation, I've got to go for Killer Queen.A truly amazing song.
By the way, Freddie's mam would choose Somebody to Love (as the dear lady as stated in the past)

yes, 1974 - SSOR - and it blew me away - so of the times tho, and very zep-like in some respects

as regards the beatles - you talk about bo rhap - yes marvellous but i defy you to listen to any beatles album post 65 and marvel at what they did with FOUR track recording...it's fucking stunning....queen learned most of what they did from artists like the beatles, floyd, zep and the small faces - who blazed the trail for them...you really should give the beatles a proper chance - you can hear the beatles in queen tracks
