Am I to take it that this is as close as you're going to get to admitting that you are, in fact, completely bonkers?

we would had had far more material of both solo work and queen

You really are a fucking dick. Just die. I dont know if I pity you or envy you. I would love to live in a different reality to everyone else on earth like you do.

Back to the Light had its moments but all Queen solo stuff is utterly woeful. Queen are like the Stones in this respect. All great together. Shite on their own.

To be honest, I don't know why some topics are created on this forum at all...

To be discussed? What you mean is 'this isn't the answer I wanted to hear'.

Queen's solo work is terrible. They needed each other. 'Its like coming back to Mother'

What´s about RTs "Foreign Sand"?

I like Roger's solo career and I don't think it is lame or terrible.

There are solo songs that turned to be Queen's songs like Heaven for Everyone or Headlong or TMLWKY.
I think a Freddie version of Future Management would have been nice.

This could have been a decent thread, but plenty of truly woeful overly confrontational responses as usual. The attitude of Queen fans on here is as disillusioning as the output and muscial choices of the rest of the band for the last ten years.

Nothin But Blue might have been good with the full band.

I like the song, I like Freddie's voice, so what?
If you think the song is silly, oh, there are so many
other silliest songs in Queen's catalogue. And though I still like them.

Really Thomas? Do I have to remind you you called Grateful Fan "scum" and you called me a bigot, a racist and a troll. And this from the guy who, with a straight face apparently, said he was moderate and level headed. lol. On any normal forum you would've been banned by now.

Back on topic, Brian's solo career is probably stronger but it's always been hampered by a feeling that it's "Queen-lite" i.e. too much like Queen but never good enough to emulate the band. On the other hand, Roger has tried to do non-Queen like songs and to forge his own sound. Although that approach has led to very mixed results, it's still more interesting than Brian's solo stuff. As to the general point someone made that all their solo recordings are crap, imo that's not true, I've heard stuff by plenty of well-known bands that is weaker than Queen solo work.

Roger Taylor's stuff and The Cross stuff, is the only solo stuff I can listen to, to be honest. I think that Holly was right in saying he moved away from the Queen sound, which I agree with and admire him for it. Not all of his stuff has worked though, but for me, when he got it right, it was very pleasing to my ears. In fact I play his solo stuff, more than I play any of Queen's stuff from 1982 and onwards. Also, in my opinion. I think 'The Unblinking Eye', is the best solo song from any band member from Queen.

I must point out, however, that I consider Freddies 'Barcelona' album, not to be part of the solo stuff, because it is not in the rock or pop territory of music, it's also a fantastic album too. So perhaps, cos of this reasoning, I should not include the Cross stuff, but I am, cos we all know the first album was really a Roger solo album and it also had a later to be released authentic Queen track on it. But I do prefer Freddies vocal version on the The Cross album, but also prefer the music from Rogers vocal take on that album. If only we could have a mix of those two parts together, that would be the ultimate mix of 'Heaven For Everyone' for me, even with the talking parts left in it. As I felt Queen's later version of the song was very weak.
