Star Wars saga is one of the most influental in the whole cinema world out there.
So what you think about it. OT or PT?
While I'm at this, I think you should definately check Adywan and his fan edits. There is still just A New Hope: Revisited out there though. He takes bloody long to make them but it's worth the wait. Been waiting years for ESB: R now.

I'm a fan of the OT, that's why I'm so angry that there's no official release of the theatrical cuts. At least we have Harmy's re-creations and the 35mm project... Can I ask who you are on OT.com ?

Prequels are garbage in comparison. Sadly, I don't think Lucas will ever release unaltered Star Wars in a proper release.

Also, I am not quite active on there. I think I once created an account. But I'm not as die hard to participate in their discussions about Star Wars. Though if I would be seeking advice on technical video stuff I'd probably go there. So yeah, I'm more of a lurker. Been waiting for Ady's ESB: R since 2009. I think the last statement was that it would release this summer? Lately haven't caught up much.

I'm cautiously pumped up for the new movies coming out, because based on what I've seen from J.J. Abrams, particular the new Star Trek stuff, I'm fairly confident he won't screw them up.

OT or PT? Why is that even a question?

The Disney ones could really go either way. On the one hand, JJ Abrams made an awful Star Trek movie that would've qualified as a decent Star Wars ripoff if he'd had the presence of mind to simply change all of the names of the characters. We know he can direct Star Wars - he did it in 2009, basically.

On the other hand, that might signify a lack of ability to stick to a damned brief; so his version of Star Wars might merely wind up being a massively mismatched ripoff of something else, like what happened with Star Trek.

I'm just going to wait and see.

The opening scene of Ep. III was awesome. Having said that, the OT beats the prequels into a bloody pulp. For my views on latter-day Lucas in more detail, see South Park.

wow Peter, just discovered those thanks to your post. Will download them for sure !

Who knows, with George Lucas out of Lucasfilm, maybe we´ll have the untouched versions officially released at last. Very much like when Brian & Rog are out of QPL, we´ll have ... ;)

It strikes me as the easiest thing Disney could do to make a quick buck and make themselves popular with fans - put the proper versions out on Blu-Ray.

yeah, I agree 100%.

after downloading yesterday Harmy´s Ep IV revision and having seen how stunning it looks, I believe Disney should do it, much sooner than later ! It´d be a winner release right from day one.

I wanted to make the SP reference as well, their commentary is pretty spot on.
We love you Mandy!
