Ok, ok - since you think I'm a hater, and won't accept my critique of your work, I let a mate of mine hear this. I didn't give him any background knowledge of who you are, what the arguing has been about or anything like that. Also, I didn't let him see the video - I just let him have the earphones. I'm sorry, but his reaction was that somebody was trying to do a poor impersonation, and that it was out of tune with poor phrasing. I shit you not, he actually used the word "sheep".

Now, I'm not telling you this to make you look daft. I'm not telling you to dishearten you or even embarrass you. I'm telling you because it's what happened.

Not everyone can be wrong, and that's another "no" to your "yes". And his was an impartial view. Please get the message - no-one hates you (although calling people names wouldn't help your cause if they did), they're just giving you genuine opinion in the hope you'll try to improve.

But instead, you're just being pig-headed and telling them they're clueless.

Seriously, this has been going on for years. Where are you getting? What are you achieving? The answer is nowhere and nothing. And before you start playing the "you couldn't do better" card, don't - because it's a tired argument. No-one here is claiming to be a good singer. You are, and, I repeat, the onus is on YOU to deliver.

Why continue to post on QZ when you know what kind of backlash you'll get when you start dismissing honest criticism? I know why - because you're not serious about singing. Why sing when you can troll, eh?

i dont agree, i actually think this is the closest to Freddies version there is out there. Bare in mind also that i sing into a shitty microphone compare to what Fred had, there
are alot of factors. I don't have the same equipment such as compressors etc that an expensive studio has. All that considered , its one hell of a rendition of this song. Don't care
what your friend or anybody says, i have ears and its very similiar to Freddies and is sure a hell of a lot
better than Rogers version.

I would say that there are a limited number of occasions where you have a sort of Freddie tonality - mainly when you're down in the midrange where your voice behaves itself the most.

The 'sheep' thing is still an issue; I think you could use a bit of practice in tailing off from notes.

In any case, people seem to really get worked up in these threads. I propose you all calm down and take it easy, this should help. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pljibtig30s

You're welcome.

You don't care what anybody says? Well why didn't you just say so earlier? I wouldn't have bothered with you in the first place then!

I'll just say this, though: you seem to think that hitting the same notes and rhythms as Freddie makes your version good, and a cover of a song should be judged by how closely the technical aspects are met. This is very far from the truth, however. Other versions of the song don't strive to be exactly what Freddie sang; they just want to sound good to peoples' ear holes, and in the collective opinion of both of my ear holes, Roger Taylor's versions last year were quite satisfying. Unfortunately, my ear holes didn't like you as much. It's just the way it is. It has to do with the tone of your voice more than anything else; I would agree with the people who have been using the word "sheep" to describe it. I don't know much about this whole singing business other than it's fun to do, but I suppose if you're really serious about this you should probably get some sort of formal training to help make your singing voice more pleasant. Other than that, I can't help you at all, and based on your above quote you really don't want my help either.

So now it has to do with the tone of my voice? First it was that i was out of tune, out of pitch and now it is my tone. Yea that sounds legit. Look im not saying that everybody will like my voice, im saying that it is certainly not horrible as you guys say. Its not out of tune, not out of pitch.

I think Freddie sang the song best and everyone should strive to sing it like he did so, those other versions suck imo.

Offcourse i must train, ive been singing for barely 2 years, give me a break. Freddie sang that song after 20 years of singing.

Excuses, excuses, excuses. Shitty microphones don't change pitch, although they can definitely affect the tone. You can blame your equipment all you want (which by the way now puts an onus on you to upgrade your equipment to "prove" your case), but your performance as assessed in the other topic was by all accounts FLAT.

Its perfectly legit excuses though. I don't know what you mean when you say that its flat but when i use my ears and listen, it sounds VERY alike Freddies version. You can't deny that, if you do
then its very hard to take you seriously. This is the closest  ive heard anyone sounding like Freddie in this song.

Give you a break? Again, for the third time, practice what you preach. If you know you need training, and you are using 2 years' experience as an excuse, why don't you go away for a while, train, improve, and then come back later? Much later should give you the chance. Maybe by then our opinions will change. Either that we'll all be dead and the place will be overrun by mind-numbing, tone-deaf zombies. Mind you, in the event of the latter, at least you'd be in the perfect company.

It already is a tone deaf mind numbing place.....

Yeah, it's your voice that's causing it.

"I believe i can be the second best singer in the world after Freddie"

I think the issue here is that it's such a big horse race that it doesn't really matter. Do you know how many singers there are in the world? The beauty of it is that you can do it however you like; why on Earth limit yourself by singling out one dead guy who can't fight back? Make something new, and stop arguing with your audience. Doesn't matter who is 'right' - just get on with the job.

Am I speaking baloney here?
