Great cover and Good tracklist, to be honest. I wouldn't be embarrased if a friend told me this was their first Queen CD, unlike certain rip-offs like Stone Cold Classics and the A-Z of Queen.
I think this cover works better than the one for Absolute Greatest. I like the combination of a very cool 70's photo and the GHII Queen logo.

Now that I think about is, Queen's releases have suffered from uninspired and some TERRIBLE font/text letters (Return of the Champions, Absolute Greatest come to mind). Stick to what works. I like this one.

The photos were taken at a photo session on 4 September 1974 by Johnny Dewe Mathews. Various photos have been used lately on 'product' including the cover of the 'Absolute Greatest' album.

Queen are the latest artist to be added to this 'Hits' series. Many other bands and singers have been included like: Whitesnake, Culture Club, Heart, Billy Squier, Donna summer, Mike Oldfield, Grand Funk Railroad and many more.
But that doesn't mean that it's NOT a dumb idea
Funny, I don't see big acts like Genesis, The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Pink Floyd, The Who in that list. Only has-been acts with 1 or 2 big hits on their name and some smaller hits.

It's a UMG thing so it's presumably limited by their own catalogue.

I'm fascinated about Hollywood Records releasing this...they are not a Universal company, right? Hmmm...interesting.

...and yes I did not realise that Freddie was wearing a Superman shirt...that is really cool, huh? Just in time for the new movie, huh?! Lol! Kewl beans! So does does this mean Freddie once believed in Superman?! Ha, ha!

^ Universal is the distributor for Hollywood Records.

The next completely useless release !!!

QPL really know to please the fans. :-((((((((((((
Who the hell is going to buy this (except a few collectors from here) ?
Regarding official releases: Being a Queen Fan gives you hard times, year after year.
The same (good) songs over and over again. I'm speechless ...

I'm not saying DONT release this, or being all negative, but WHY??? Surely the plethora of best of compilations, coupled with the deep cut efforts, already demonstrates what queen has to offer?

It's easy to churn out these packages, but will anything new be offered? Or is Queen's legacy going to fade out as a hits band?

People seem to be referencing some sort of format or concept to these ICON compilations. What is that, exactly, because I don't really seem to see any significant pattern.
These are the days of our lives They've flown in the swiftness of time.

I don't see this as a band thing really. Probably more of a typical business/marketing decision by Universal. It's not the kind of release that frustrates me much because it likely demands virtually no time or thought, and thus it's not like it's drawing energy or resources from something we'd think of as worthwhile. If somebody picks it out of a bargain bin at Wal-Mart of whatever, good for them. It's got a nice cover.

I guess Waunakonor it's that the "ICON" compilations focus on almost as few of hits as possible and has very limited liner notes and artwork...THOUGH the cover photgraphs are usually top notch...and they are compilations of the Earth's best selling recording artists. :)

Lol. It does have a nice cover and it is interesting seeing the format of "Queen" from the later years being used with a photo from the early years. Lol.

Another One Bites The Dust
We Will Rock You
We Are The Champions
Bohemian Rhapsody
Radio Ga Ga
I Want It All
The Show Must Go On

...It's a good thing they have a new compilation out, or the population outside QZ might have missed out entirely on these rare non-hit songs!

Only eleven tracks? WTF. What a waste of money and disc space. At least they have to put 18 tracks. it would be more apelative. Boring and very short tracklist.

Most people are not looking for rare tracks! Just the opposite! They are looking for what's popular! And that's o.k.! I would probably not be as thrilled about this release if they really did happen much more than they already do. Again I think it is fine and cool with the knowledge that all things especially generic budget compilations at some can and probably will go out of print anyway and better releases or re-releases of other compilations could be done. So, it's all good.
