I don't like the word lurker but I have been dipping in and out of a lot Queen forums for quite a few years now and I would like to ask where is the Queen in Queenzone.
In another serious thread the original poster got so fed up he deleted his original post. Then Jam Monkey says he would get back to us with a list when he was ready and John Stuart decided to switch off the TV and return to a normal life. But all this has been steamrolled because some people are more obsessed with point scoring than they are with Queen.
To the original poster I would like to have asked the same question because up util last week I never new what a fanthology was. But that was the very thing that drew my attention.
I don't think I will be returning much here either because anything of any remote interest doomed to failure before its even begun. What a waste of time and opportunites this place is.

Remember, Queen died a long time ago. As I have said many times before.. there is nothing left to talk about. All there is is pointless drivel.

And there are always the polls that have been done a million fucking times before....

I was going to sarcastically tell you to fuck off noob. Fact is though you are bang on. Every thread seems to descend into a pissing contest between the same morons, regardless of the topic, which is usually lost by the 5th post. I for one am sick of seeing the same dickheads trying to score points off each other, and ruining decent discussion in the process.
Some people obviously need to feel relevant, and seeing as they cannot contribute anything worthwhile they choose to massage their egos by pointless arguments.
I know some here will say it has been this way for a long time but the truth is it has gotten alot worse recently. Pointless bile in nearly every thread, some users here need to remember why they joined a music forum for a band they love and stop logging on looking for a fight.

You know, that really says a lot when you have casual users coming out all at once to decry the state of the board.
Maybe a new 'code of conduct' should be debated on now, now that it's already been established through a poll this past January that the majority of QZ users want moderation. Clearly what "worked" for the site years ago is becoming deficient, and we need a lot of civility restored.
This infighting is beyond way too much!

I don't know if this is the sort of site to find queens. It sounds like you need a gay 1-1 site lol :p
But seriously, your point is valid, and it would be great to return to some sort if norm here. I hope it does, as I care a great deal about this community and hate to see folk tear it apart. Of course, some deliberately do it (trolls), but some get caught up in the heat of the moment, and this is where credibility is lost. I hope that certain folk aren't remembered for silliness when under fire, but instead for the positives they have contributed.

It works both ways ...
One of the alleged "trolls" has repeatedly stated:
"The problem here is that a small group of collectors demands the right to say whatever they like, without anyone dissenting. And when there is dissent, they respond with abuse and bullying...
As I've said before, if that lot would pipe down and keep their petty little squabbles off the forum, stop abusing people here as ignorant, stupid, greedy, beggars etc, and stop the blackmail tactics ("we won't share anything else unless you suck up and do what we say") then the forum could go back to its usual shitty state."

Yep, I get that: BUT my point is that some are doing it deliberately whilst others, who normally would be courteous and sincere, get caught up in the heat of the moment. It's those characters I hope are NOT remembered for this, as a lot of them contribute positively to the forum any other day.
The whole thing has induced an unnecessary personality clash - personalities who would, otherwise, get on (or at least be civil).
Of course, there's been a lot more infighting than the recent Fullergate episode, but the odd ongoing feud is normal. I just don't want it to escalate beyond the original argument and boil over onto every thread going - that's what is killing the place, and that's what the OP is getting at (I think, lol).

Exactly. And what doesn't help is when these antagonizers make half-hearted suggestions like 'Oh let's finally give it a rest' or something like those lines, but then they go completely against their own advice and continue agonizing just for the sake of having the last word and hearing themselves talk.

Spot on. And this wouldn't be the first time this has happened either; anyone remember the Q+PR topics a few years ago that just would not let the hate die down without many a fight, no matter each topic's OP's intent?

Yep, with some even arguing the toss that Brian and Roger were dancing on Freddie's grave. How morbid - just because they wanted to continue doing something they love, and with a respected artist too lol.
Those were the days! Oh! Wait a minute.......

Thank you for your honesty Mark and I am glad you didn't. But why would you want to do that to me? I don't now you and all I wanted was a straight answer. But this is my point is everyone treated like this on Queenzone and if so why?

Because quite frankly, it's become something of a culture to be negative here because of the hands-off approach to "moderation" (read; VERY little moderation except for exceptions relating to extreme trolls such as MEDUSA) since pretty much the beginning, something which I advised on multiple occasions over the past decade would lead to increased trolling and not just from extreme trolls either, only to be ignored or dismissed.
If we even had moderation halfway between the QZ "hands off" and QOL's fairly no-nonsense approach, things would have been fairly less toxic here in my personal view.

Does QOL still exist??? You live and learn :)

As a Christian it is my duty to forgive. its hard sometimes but thats what I believe. I now everyone does not believe that and I am not preaching im just asking so do not jump down my throat.
I'm not taking sides this is how I see things. if i'm wrong someone tell me where and i'll fixit.
From what I read (I don't now) this David Fuller bloke had a YouTube channel of stuff that belonged to Queen. So he was in the wrong because of that copyright. But there artists like prince, pink, madonna and dire straits have all had youtube cites closed for illegal copyright. If I got that bit right then why all the fuss because it happens all the time and not just to him. (David Fuller). But for sake of arguement lets call him "the sinner".
From what I read as well this inuliger bloke has a bit of aspergers and OCD. But he told Queen to take down Fullers channel. But that makes this inuluger bloke the messenger.
So my question is why shoot the messenger? He was not the sinner in the first place. Its like witnessing a crime like say a mugging and blaming the witness fro the mugging and not the original mugger. Now what I also don't get is that Even though this inuluger bloke has OCD and Asperger's why are people obviously winding him up and call him ratty. I get it but in doing that they have forgotten all about fuller in the first place. What I mean is that the original sinner gets off scott free and is seen as some cult hero, while the person who believes they did the right thing keeps getting wound up. I just don't get it. I mean isn't this just transference of guilt from the sinner onto the head of someone else? Is this not how all cults begin?
