It's an amazing vocal performance really. It's just the instrumentals are badly chosen especially the saxophone.
Question - what is the Battle Scene track that is a part of this Townhouse Demo set?
Probably incidental music originally written for use in the Highlander movie

Great share, thank you. Very interesting to hear. I thought I heard some minor differences in Freddies vocals. Are we 100% sure this is indeed the final vocal take?

Thanks very much to all involved in sharing this.
Everything other than the vocals is definitely different to the final version, and I'm not even certain that the vocal take is the same. So this is very interesting. Not necessarily good though...the guitar solo is horrible, as is the sax solo, and the keys and drums sound even lamer than they do on the final version.

Nice! Definitely not a demo, but it could be an alternate or even fan mix. The latter is very possible. Thanks for the share - regardless of origin, it's a nice track :)
this is 100% real.
Originally comes from a person VERY close to Queen.
lineage:

circulates among collectors in FLAC as well.
Actually these recordings come from a townhouse studio cassette tape which ended up in the fan circuit. Like so many tapes do.
This tape features also Battle Scene.
There are at least two of these Townhouse tapes around. One has the alternate version of PISCTP.

I know the real story.

I'd be very interested in hearing it!

... and this was? ´cos the download isn´t available anymore, at least to me :)
The guitar solo is likely played by Deacy. Brian and Roger likely had no involvement in this track at all.

I'm not so sure. I hear a fair few Bri elements in that solo. Of course, we've no references from Deaky in order to compare soloing styles, but the bends and vibrato sound pretty consistent with Bri's playing to me.
As somebody else said upthread, there's shades of Mother Love in it.
inu-liger wrote: Are you forgetting "Misfire" Bohardy? :-)
Well, technically it didn't cross my mind whilst making that post, but I don't think you could class any of Deaky's playing in that song as a guitar solo.
I think it fair to say there's no recorded evidence that we know of of a Deaky guitar solo. I know Sebastian might disagree with that however...
