Lead vocal's

I don't get why Brian seem's to get all the vocal bridges on the song's such as I want it all, Who wants to live forever, Flash and Fat bottomed girls.

While Roger mainly sings in the harmony's and the only lead vocals he gets are on some Album tracks on the early stuff. Such as Drowse and Loser in the end.

In my opinion Roger's voice is far better than Brian's in fact i don't really rate Brian's voice at all. Was just wondering if someone has a different opinion or if they know why the lead vocals were shared as they where.

well, brian is a perfectionist while roger is a rock'n'roller...

i think this is more about the songs themselves and where BOTH would prefer to be singing.
the songs you listed were Brian's own compositions - brian appears to be struggling with his own importance - and would want to be as important as FM, he prefers to sing a lead rather than a harmony in his own songs - but
If he wants his songs to be singles - he has to write for freddie's vocals - so the only way he can sing lead is to be in the bridge.

roger, i think was more secure about his role and therefore was happy to sing lead on his (album track) compositions, and doing harmony on almost everything else - as his vocie complimented freddie extremely well.

Roger still had more leads in the early days than Brian, including some incidental and one of their songs on stage (which Brian didn't have).

From 1981 onwards Roger had either a solo career or another band where he was the lead singer, so he had a different outlet. Brian's solo career properly started *after* Freddie passed away.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

I'm not sure I can agree with that as the reason, Brenski. For me, it's just that Brian's voice has a better fit on the specific tracks the OP has mentioned. On earlier tracks where Brian takes lead, for instance "39", "Long Away" or "Sail Away Sweet Sister", I think it's because a younger Brian's voice is quite delicate and tender, again making a better fit for the overall tone/feel of the track.

Just my tuppenceworth :)

LOL - I don't want to come across as a grammar Nazi, but this really irks me too.

Thank you.

"Sail Away Sweet Sister" - I have always liked Freddie's Bridge in this song, so it does work the other way round too.
Joyful the sound

Have never liked Brian singing lead on tracks. A song like Long Away could have been a massive hit if Brian had let Freddie sing it. The song would have worked better as well, Brian sounds to weak. Brian singing lead twice on ANATO has always bothered me too.
Go, Go, Go, little queenie!!

i've always thought brian's (lead) vocals sound a bit whiny....almost apologetic
