OK, that's fine by me. I would get the tapes shipped out as soon as humanly possible, because come December I'm going to be an even busier man with the arrival of my 2nd child by then, so if we can work on this at everyone's earliest convenience, it would greatly benefit everyone all around. I have other side projects, some indirectly involving Queen-related stuff, that also need to be taken care of preferably by then as well!
The most time consuming aspect of it all will be the remastering, which we'll definitely need to do side by side :-)

And by the way, regarding "Red House", I recall there was a near DVD quality audience shot video which I think would be suffice enough to take the mono audio from, remaster it as well and blend it in with the rest of the recording.
I know I have it somewhere on my DVD-R's, but it'll take me quite a bit of time to sort through the discs to find which one it's on since I practically have over 120 discs of various crap, not including my FLAC collection! Would anyone happen to have a copy they could upload here or send me? Pretty sure it was a MOV Quicktime file...
It's too bad the only clips out there from the show are all poor quality, sometimes distorted YouTube videos :-/

Excellent !
Have you considered spending a few extra bucks on insurance or something like that? You wouldn't want to lose your prized possessions in the post.
That said, I haven't ever lost a package in the mail, so I doubt you will either.
Still, I'd suggest you try to do another transfer at a lower volume level, just to have a safety copy before sending it off.

I told him to send it registered or express, as I will cover the costs anyways, so there shouldn't be an issue. I've never had registered mail go missing in the 14 years I've been buying and exchanging stuff through online outlets. Regular mail is another story of course :-)
Call me picky, I'd personally rather keep wear to the tapes as minimal as possible in order to maintain what fidelity is there :-)

Yup. Every play of the tape makes the quality a bit worse.

Indeed. The brand make also plays a role in the quality of the tape itself too.
