Can someone direct me to a Freddie Mercury only discussion thread? Or anyone interested in talking about him in general. I don't want to flood the forum too much because this is a Queen site, but I'd just like to bounce some theories, ideas off of someone else who is a Freddie fanatic.
Living in the US, at least in this area, not many people even know who Freddie is and I am DYING to talk to someone about him :)
Thanks!

Let me try it this way....in this forum there are a lot of Freddie Threads...on the other hand WHAT do you want to discuss, and WICH theories are you thinking of ? Maybe you can get some answers right here.

Freddie comes under Queen, so there's no reason you can't discuss him here, and starting a new thread makes more sense than digging up an old one. Bounce away!

"Not many people know who Freddie is " ??!!!! - you don't live with them hillbillies from the film "Deliverance" by any chance?

Haha it might ring a bell with some people if I say " freddie mercury, you know, the lead singer of Queen?"
Maybe I'm just talking to the wrong people.
Anyway, I've read/watched every pretty much everything having to do with Freddie and I just have some general theories about his life and death, stuff no one will really know the true answer to I guess but at least have a discussion about.
First one, where has the idea that Freddie was left handed come from? It seems to be that everyone believes he was born left handed, and it was " forced out of him" in boarding school. But I've never seen or read anything to support this.
All his photos and videos show him using his right hand ( with the exception of sometimes singing w the mic in his left) including ingrained type behaviors, ie, crossing arms, legs.
Any ideas?

I never heard about a rumor that he was born as a left handed. Using my left hand was "forced out of me too" Once this happend you can not see a difference . Grabbing a drink or a Mic with the left hand is less than "soft evidence". If you can`t find an interview with his mum/Sister or any other acceptable source...? - personally I wouldn`t put too much deep thoughts in that theorie.

It interests me as a left hander, and for my own personal knowledge-I've noticed every celebrity I deeply admire is left handed!
. A regular Google search for "was Freddie Mercury left handed" will come back with 99% certainty that he was, but once again no source.
Ok, second question, and one that I am NOT trying to present as a conspiracy theory but just conjecture.
Peter Freestone and Jim Hutton both said that Freddie was allergic to morphine and would not use it it, even in the last days.
However, on the day of his death he had a turn for the worse, or an "episode" and the doctor was called. The doctor gave Freddie a shot of morphine. 30 minutes later, before the doctor had even left, Freddie was dead.
Has anyone else thought about the fact that the morphine contributed to his death?
He was expected to last about another week. The reason this one bothers me is because I hate the thought of Freddie not being with his family or I suppose even Mary when he died. OR more so, that he didn't die when he wanted to, or on his terms. Also, that the morphine caused his death to be painful or uncomfortable.
Thoughts?

Forget about the morphine. Dropping his AZT medication about two weeks before, killed him , in compination with his physical condition. That was a suicidal move ( more or less/ Doctors warned him).
One more thought on your "left handed" theorie...There are amazing artists all around the world. It doesn`t matter if they left or right handed straight or gay.

It doesn't matter your're right, it doesn't change a thing, it's just a general question. The man is flawless in my eyes.
This is just a discussion. When I started this topic, I asked if someone could point me to a different forum or website if these questions are going to be considered annoying.
So once again, if these questions are annoying or off topic, please point me elsewhere instead of saying this site has "gone to shit" , or trying to make it seem as though I am looking for a negative type of discussion.
MM-- I realize Freddie's decision to come off his meds was ultimately what sped up his death, I was just wondering if anyone had thought the morphine contributed also.

Well, if he was allergic to morphine...it surly wasn`t helpful. The only little doubt I have on that that morphine story is that DR.Gordon Atkinson must have known about a possible allergic reaction because he was his regular patient( I am sure that there is another word for that). But maybe it was the only medical option ???
Don`t care about the "shit" statement - he is well known for that.

I take it that the dose of morphine wasn't normally considered enough to send him on his way then? I mean that's what they do. Suppress people's respiratory systems so they can die more easily. Happens everywhere to alleviate pain and suffering, when there is little point in going on. It's quite humane really and definitely not any sort of conspiracy, if that was indeed what happened in Freddie's case. It would be a case of thank god he died sooner rather than later really. No more suffering!

Yeah I realize morphine eases the pain, but he was allergic to it. If it "sped up" his death , I just was hoping it wasn't uncomfortable for him because of his allergy.
Also, he wanted to die on his own terms, and it seems that at that point he really had no say in receiving the morphine, although he had requested previously not to have it.
Ultimately, my point it I just hope he didn't suffer further.

True morphine allergy (i.e. an immuno-response to morphine) is exceedingly rare. If Freddie had this, the doctors would never have administered morphine because it would have none of its usual effects (aside from making breathing more difficult), and because alternatives were already available for those exceedingly few patients with a true morphine allergy. What is far more likely is that Freddie suffered from "adverse reaction to morphine", which is often (and incorrectly) called an allergy. This means that the side-effects of morphine are experienced more severely than is normal - these side effects are mostly skin rash (in varying degrees) and hayfever symptoms, mostly blocked sinuses and a runny nose.
I'm left-handed myself, and my great-grandfather was one of those who had it "beaten out of them", and I don't recognize any left-handed behaviour in Freddie, as opposed to for instance David Bowie, who plays the guitar right-handed while he is really left-handed.
