So it seems this is almost Freddie Solo Collection level of greatness, except for the unreleased material part but I never thought this would include much unreleased material.
This is supposed to be Roger's full body of RELEASED work, isn't it? Not a Beatles Anthology type of thing with a bunch of demos.

Complains about this release show that there's no way to please everybody. Olympic theme? WTF?! Next we'll have someone complaining we don't have all 18 "Interlude in Constantinople" takes. Geez!

Just try to get a hold of all these song versions on physical format and I'm sure you will spend much more than the current retail price for "The Lot". I guess we've been spoiled by convention recordings and downloads.
This ^

Was anyone expecting perfection from QPL? LOL. Even the Freddie box set was missing songs and far from perfect.

However, I do understand the disappointment, and encourage others to vent if they feel like it ... and the stepfords can counter-vent as well. Let's make this a wild MoanZone Party!!!

This stepford (me) will be purchasing The Lot as it is much better than I feared it would be, and contains much (almost half of the Lot) that I do not have already on CD or DVD.

Does anyone know the amount for the courier fees on Queen Online? I could find out by doing a mock order, but I do not want to register with QOL, as I am still very skeptical, paranoid and non-trusting of QPL.

Gary: Thank you for your information. May I ask you if there are still some surprises about the Lot "in the pipe"? I am wondering if there will be some "Limited collectors editions" as meant in the first press release :) thans

GT: if you're able to advise what the difference is in 'limited collectors editions' of the set to normal versions this would be good (as mentioned in the early press release). Thanks.

Also, can you say why proof reading of the tracklistings on the Facebook pages didn't take place, leading to several errors. Thank you.

As a general comment, I do agree that it would have been great to see the inclusion of a few more of the unreleased RT tracks, but I do at least understand this time. This is a compilation of released material, but we just get the additional The Cross stuff as it's likely to be the last ever opportunity to release that, whereas hopefully there may be another chance for a release of a fully cd of unreleased RT solo tracks in the future.

Bonus Tracks on 'Fun On Earth' - 'The Lot' box set version:

14. Dear Mr Murdoch (Nude Mix) - instrumental 2011 version (???)
15. Whole House Rockin' - solo version of Cosmos Rockin' (???)

"The Whole House Rockin'" was performed by Roger at the Indigo2 in London back 2009 & was great to hear Roger's personal take on the song that later developed into "Cosmos Rockin'")

For me "The Whole House Rockin'" looks like to be the best inclusion of a song from the whole "The Lot" release.
Joyful the sound

I shall be disappointed if the 'Dear Mr Murdoch Nude Mix)' ends up being something new they have spent time creating especiially for this set (like some of the Queen deluxes issue mixes), when they have excluded the oriignal Japanese promo version of this track, and also a couple of other unreleased Roger solo tracks that we know of.

As mentioned earlier in this thread, it would be nice to know if the solo/Cross albums have been remastered. Also I see that, in the QOL store, the DVD track listing is still TBC but that there is a running time which suggests known content.

I guess we'll know soon enough.

Indeed - I'm assuming that everything is being remastered (if only lightly to bring consistency to levels across different aged material), but as the press releases usually make a big play of this and nothing is mentioned this time, confirmation would be appreciated. If it isn't, I might well consider not getting the set as I have nearly all of it already.

GT: can you advise if any of the boxset tracks will be able to be downloaded individually from iTunes, or will the tracks from 'The Lot' only be downloadable as an entire set?

Probably means 20 years since the musicians last met, which was presumably at the final gig in Gosport. Amazing gig that was.
I assumed that's what it meant too....I was also at that gig, fantastic.
And i'm going to the reunion too, not bothered about seeing the SAS band again, but no way was I letting them do me out of having seen the last ever Cross gig!

I´m very happy with the Lot. I never cared too much about collecting the Cross, i have some records and singles, but that´s it, so this box set is really appreciated.

Great stuff GT, and even before i have this box set i will congratulate QP for compiling and releasing something like this. I´m looking forward to read the book and learn more about the Cross releases.

Since Queen moved to Universal, it has been fantastic, and i´m looking forward to the future for more great releases like this, hopefully the Brian May box - with some live DVD´s :-) Wishful thinking i know!

To me personally i think you guys did great with Roger Taylor. I never expected this kind of treatment for a drummer. I´m really, really happy with how things are being made, and i really congratulate QP and all people involved in the making of this Box and all products being released lately for their efforts.

Exciting times!

I think you're missing the whole point of this set, in that as a solo artist he is a singer/songwriter/guitarist etc.... and deserves to be credited, especially above all by a "Queen Fan" as more than just "a drummer"!!!!

These solo releases from Roger are on Virgin/EMI, as opposed to Island (which, I know, are both subsiduaries of Universal anyway), but seems to intimate that solo work wasn't part of the package when Queen moved to Universal. I wonder if Roger would have had the backing to release 'The Lot' on the old EMI arrangements if he wasn't providing such a good return to Universal's coffers via 'the mothership'?!!

....and having just searched Universal, Virgin, EMI and subsiduaries, I can find no trace of Roger as an artist, or with any release news at all. Nice label backing there then!!!
