Roger Taylor & Brian May Finishing Up Unreleased Michael Jackson-Freddie Me

I think Brian and Roger learnt to lie their arses off when Freddie was dying and have kept it going ever since to cover up any remaining material that is left. That way they can release at a time of their choice and haven't been harassed in the intervening years.

For them now to say that Brian has been working on this stuff intermittently for years is so different to what has been said before this. I reckon Roger is just as willing to release any remaining Freddie tracks when they think the time is right, and it wouldn't surprise me if Deaky was involved behind the scenes in finishing off anything off that needs finishing without telling anyone, just to make sure that anything with Freddie on it comes out as the best it can be, but without compromising his retirement.

Other than that, the guys are certainly into maximising Queen's revenue these days, but at some point that is going to include an album, probably as a precursor to the Freddie movie.

I don't know if MJ's estate are willing or unwilling to release the duets. They hardly need to at the moment given he tops the most recent dead stars hightest income list. Although I would assume that Paris, Blanket and co might like to see their dad's voice gracing and probably also topping the charts at least one more time..

All just my speculation and opinion like the rest of you of course.

Queen stuff I like to hear. MJ, not so much - probably the most overrated artist ever. [/QUOTE]

Aha, of course. You have no knowledge about this man.

Absolutely no chance - they simply haven't seen his for years and years.

MJ definetly IS overrated... he's good. no question. but his songs were played to death. and they don't contain any substance to really discover new things listening over and over again. it's just rhythm---(sry!)---crap.
don't get me wrong... i like "bad" and "dangerous"... but... after some playing you just get bored by that kind of style...
well, at least i do....

Which song did Deaky remix and add bass to back in the 1996? Was it "There Must Be..."?
If B&R are cleaver enough, they could make use of that...

But man, what a dancer he was. I think he really knew how to express his body through music.

Yes, but John's contributions might have been made years ago courtesy of Pro Tools. Furthermore, any subsequent work, if it did happen, would not require them to work on it in the same physical place of course!

I'm sure John will be heard on the record, but just from his original recordings and no new work

well i never particularly liked MJ - but regardless - the above comment is incredible. I can't believe you can dismiss an entire person's work in two sentences.
Despite my own taste, I still accept that MJ was incredibly talented and certainly right up there with the the elite of the pop world

agree 100%

Not a huge Jacko fan, neither, but when there´s talent, there´s talent.

I just recently watched the "This is It" docummentary on TV and only then, after seeing MJ rehearsing and giving instructions to the band (by "the band", please read "mega-talented & pro musicians"), etc etc , only then I understood the respect and recognition MJ deserved and still deserves.

I appreciate that he considered himself a student of the dancer greats: Fred Astaire, the West Side Story dancers, Gene Kelly, James Brown, Charlie Chaplin, Jeff Daniel, ..., and in doing so, he became a great!
