It must not be that important. It can't be taken seriously when just hand over something that is going to take close to half an hour. You are either lying about it or do not know yourself where in the song it is.
I didn't realize listening to a song is such a chore, and that your time is so precious that you can't devote some time to listening to it and discovering it yourself.

Yes we know these things by reading the posts earlier but when in the 23 minute song does this occur? Lol.
*gasp*

The early Genesis records, Nursery Cryme through Trick Of The Tail, are essential listening from front to back.

yes agreed ^^^

the knife, the musical box, harold the barrel, the return of the giant hogweed, watcher of the skies, firth of fifth, cinema show, i know what i like, ripples and the aforementioned epic Supper's Ready are standouts.
pity that the 3-piece-era produced so much over-diluted pap.

there are patches of "Duke" that i go back to, but nothing beyond that...Abacab and thereafter is piss-poor (imo)

Yes early Genesis is quite Brilliant, after Gabriel left though, it is very different.
Wind and Wuthering is the best without him though, and even though he's not on it, it is still probably my favourite Genesis album overall.

think i always thought about their early stuff - that as good as it was and as interesting as it was
it always sounded a bit "muddy" - never sure if this was down to piss-poor production/mixing or just
"too much going on" so lots of similar frequencies just blended into an audible miasma

Wasn't their catalogue or at least the first number of l.p.s remixed a few years ago?

With the exception of the debut album (which they don't have the rights to) all of the albums and concert videos were remixed and re-released in 2007-2009.

All the studio albums came out as (SA)CD+DVD sets that inlcuded an interview, and the promo videos and shorter concert videos of the period, as well as surround remixes of the albums.

The studio albums were also released as three box sets (with almost all* B-sides on a bonus disc), and further box sets were dedicated to the live albums and live videos respectively.

All in all, they did a good (not great) job of re-releasing the previously available material. Together with the two Archive sets and one of the latter re-release of the From Genesis To Revelation .album, you would have pretty much the complete collection of Genesis works.

* The 1983-1998 box set curiously omits some of the B-sides from the Ray Wilson era, even though there would have been plenty of space for them

I think the 80s albums all have their redeeming qualities in places, as does We Can't Dance - lots of great tracks on that one.

The Way We Walk, the longs ... a great way to bypass the pop of the 80s/90s and hear the better material from the era.
