It won't be with Marc Martel, I don't think. BM and RT have said in the past that they don't want to share the stage with a Frddie sound alike. Paul Rodgers got the job in 2005 because he brought something different and he was an artist in his own right.
Like him or not that's what Adam Lambert has done too.
Having recorded and toured with Freddie, doing the same with a sound alike, to them, would be like settling for second best. With no disrespect to Mark Martel he has a voice, he doesn't have the range the range of talents that Freddie had behind that voice.

i find it incredible they prefer their music sung by someone who cannot sing it the way its meant to sound. Surely it would be better to at least try to present it sounding like it should? in studio they could make something amazing together.
Marc can sing Nessun Dorma for goodness sake! i mean , he really has power in his voice!
They should write an album together, they really should take the opportunity to do something before it's too late.
To avoid quality to avoid comparison to Freddie at any cost ,seems to be their PR directive, and it hurts them massively, even leading to Mocking Freddie in the process. for it seems it is ok to joke about him but never must they be seen to try and seriously be in any way copy or resurrect anything of him, unless it is him for real, in the form of some demos of his etc.
But as far as Queen live now, and Queen in studio, and the movie, they directly avoid looking as if they are attempting to give something comparable to the magic, and it results in a poor reflection of what they once were and still could be musically.
It does Queen and Freddie no favours at all. and as for the movie , it makes no sense whatsoever ! for that would be contemporaneous to his actual life, as if it was and is,
and in order to be credible IT HAS to look like it is HIS LIFE STORY and look like it is actually IS HIM.
So they make no sense to me, these choices OF THEIRS ,for they are redundant and a waste of what QUEEN should BE ABOUT, which is excellence and credibility in every department.
It is more and more apparent that They are catering to the fads and momentary fashions of celebrity popularity and what is NOW at the moment culturally relevant just for the sake of popular generational acceptance.
THE very antithesis of Queen's creative ethos for they never tried to be fashionable, but now all their choices are based upon that wanting to be seen as relevant in this dust bowl of a culture we have , WHICH IS a desert of real talent, so much so that they re adjust themselves by alluding to Shakespeare in order to regain balance after Borat!!!!
This is all crap and will be forgotten for it IS NOT QUEEN it poses as relevant but it is dross , why do they suck up to it???
and their integrity as artists has been thrown out the window by this embracing of the culturally inferior celebrity of the present day and wanting to be part of the truly irrelevant Now ! , by sacrificing their PAST!
And it is not IMPOSSIBLE for them to STEP OUT AND use WHAT IS there for them and is actual quality now.
For the seventies culture was crap in general also
it was just that QUEEn and others BUT ESPECIALLY Queen were REALLY OUTSTANDING, they weren't just another choice on the shelf, they were truly MAGNIFICENT AND VERY TALENTED MUSICIANS AND PERFORMERS.

It's interesting that a lot of people, including Roger Taylor think that Marc Martel's voice is very close to Freddie's. And that has always, for most, been the reason that he is mentioned as being such a good choice as a Queen vocalist.
He got the job in The Queen Extravaganza because of the way he sounds, and the fact he can sing. It still comes down to the fact that he fills a role, with other singers, which is different to what BM and RT want to front Queen.
To say that Adam Lambert can't sing shows a lack of understanding of what singing is. Having the view that you don't like what he does is something different to saying he can't sing.
As far as the film goes, they have an actor who they feel can play the role of Freddie. Remember that RT and BM spent a lot of time with Freddie and as such they will have a better idea of who could best fill the role. Playing a part, real or fictional, is not just about how an actor looks, it's about how they play the part, and how close they can get to the personality of the person that they are playing. Playing the part of Freddie, I would imagine will not require any, or very little singing from the actor because that's the one very recognizable thing that I believe would be very hard to replicate and therefore they would use Freddie's vocals. Unless of course they use Marc Martel!
The recording of a new album does appear to be in the pipe line, they have songs that Freddie has sung on, so why would they choose to record with Marc Martel or anyone else?
