Not your favourite Queen song. But instead a Queen song that evokes some strong emotion of some kind. (Like tsmgo does to Stelio. Got the idea from him). And only one, please.

My 'special' Queen song is White Queen. Especially performed live (Rainbow and Hammersmith). Whenever I hear Freddie sing that song, it really puts me into a magical mood. I cannot explain the feeling, but it is just there. His voice is pure magic! And the music haunting and perfect! (Although this is not my favourite Queen song)

Noorie you read my mind white queen isnt my favorate song but if I had to choose "that special queen song" then wq at the rainbow is it! And haunting is a great way to sum it up. Iv got so many early recordings of queen and iv been hard pushed to find a version as good as rainbow wq . And although bri is quotedd as saying he was never happy with the sound at the rainbow it sounds pretty damn good to me! Cool idea for a topic too!
If you ever lean out of line......so help me lord i'll flop you lower than whale shit!

Yeah, that 'special' Queen song isn't necessarily your favourite. But in my case it is: '39.

Otherwise, 'Save Me', it's gorgeous!
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

One of the songs that always does it for me is "Firends will be Friends". The guitar tone is just memorable throughout the song, but that intro ... pure genius!

Save Me live in Montreal or Friends Will Be Friends. But most of the time things change for me. I'll post in this thread again after a year or two.

white queen for me is one of the most fascinating songs that band ever wrote and performed. i really DO love it for the piano/guitar solo and for on one the most outstanding vocal performances of that very mr. mercury. ! great! no doubt about it !
too bad they missed to turn up the piano in the album version!

You gotta thank Stelios for that. His TSMGO post got me thinking.

Save Me, Montreal is just beautiful. IMO it is the single greatest live performance of any Queen song ever by ALL members of the band at the same time. Freddie's voice is just spot on and Brian plays the guitar solos amazingly, Roger and John are perfectly in time and in harmony.....I know it's a cliche, but MAGIC!!!!

A Winters Tale. Beautiful and inspirational.

Liar live: on a good show, the whole thing just sizzles mercilessly. The Japan shows in '75 were just about the best and I don't include teh medley versions from the Works tour. Roger, John & Dr. May just kick up a storm!

I have a couple that's hard for me to narrow down. TSMGO always gets me but so do a few others.

White Queen - BBC Version (the rawness of it)

Days Of Our Lives - I have no idea...perhaps it's the nostalgia but the simplicity of it is just very sweet.

Save Me - Montreal
