Buyer protection, Michael. Paypal offers protection in the case of items not being received or as described. I wouldn't suggest for a moment that you'd scam anyone, but WU doesn't protect buyers from scammers. Once the money is gone, it's gone.
Have you switched it off and then on again?

Michael is a great seller.
I bough him 4 records and perfect. 7 days only USA-Spain.

I wouldn't dispute it for a moment, Mr. Darko, but he asked if it would make a difference to people if he accepted paypal, and what the benefits of paypal were over WU. I think people would feel safer with paypal - that is, people who are seeing his 'for sale' page outwith this site. Just a little advice, of course he's the seller so can set the terms, but it may help if he accepted PP.

For what it matters....

I purchased two items from Michael this week. I made the Western Union payment on Sunday night. He received payment on Monday. The items arrived today (Wednesday). All items were in really nice condition. Michael was friendly and patient throughout the whole process. I recommend him as a seller.

^^ Ditto. I bought a book from Michael and had it in my hands in no time. Good communication through the whole process. Sorry to sound like ebay feedback....

First thanks to everyone for the kind words. Second I have now setup a paypal account. I will say that my preference I still Western Union because it's faster and I don't get charged any fees BUT for those who feel more comfortable with paypal for whatever reason that is now an option.

I'm even selling the Queen ultimate collection (or "Queen cabinet" if you prefer.)

I have also dealt with Mr Allred with excellent results.

I tried Western Union a couple times and the transfer wouldn't go through, so we have brought him into the wonderful world of PayPal.

He is a lovely gent, and someone you'll be happy to deal with. Grab what few items are left !

The Crown Jewels box set for sale
The Ultimate Collection aka Queen cabinet for sale (all 20 picture disc cds in that lovely case) for sale amongst other items. Will gladly negotiate prices for those and other items I still have for sale, instead of just quoting prices we can barter I think.

Please note as I have gotten a few messages from some who are confused, ONLY the items that have "for sale" next to them are the ones actually for sale. if it is unmarked then it is not for sale.

would it actually make a difference to people if paypal was involved? in other words, is there something you would have bought but decided against it because you couldn't use paypal?[/QUOTE]

Banks and other organizations that deal with international payments in my country (The Netherlands) actively call on people NOT to use Western Union because your transactions aren't protected in any way. Western Union ITSELF advises people not to use its service to send money to anyone you haven't met in person, AND there are serious, and partially substantiated, concerns that Western Union gives transaction data and personal information for every transaction to the American intelligence services. Furthermore, it is THE most frequently used payment-system among scammers.

So I would NEVER buy anything if I had to pay for it with Western Union, and have in practice decided not to make a purchase because the seller wanted payment by Western Union several times. It is an outmoded system, extremely vulnerable to abuse and run by a company that has a sketchy reputation for privacy at best. I'll take an international bank transfer over Western Union any day of the week.
