Had another look at the list, Michael. The things I wanted from before are gone, unfortunately. But as a bit of advice, I'd say that it would be best to link to a list that only has the things you want to sell - not a complete list of your collection. Grading your items may help too.

How does it work to sell stuff? I want myself to sell Queen stuff but ebay is too complicated. Can somebody give me some cues on how to proceed, how to decide the shipping cost, etc. If it can't be discussed publicly, then just PM. Any help would be appreciated. I'm in Canada by the way.

Banks and other organizations that deal with international payments in my country (The Netherlands) actively call on people NOT to use Western Union because your transactions aren't protected in any way. Western Union ITSELF advises people not to use its service to send money to anyone you haven't met in person, AND there are serious, and partially substantiated, concerns that Western Union gives transaction data and personal information for every transaction to the American intelligence services. Furthermore, it is THE most frequently used payment-system among scammers.
So I would NEVER buy anything if I had to pay for it with Western Union, and have in practice decided not to make a purchase because the seller wanted payment by Western Union several times. It is an outmoded system, extremely vulnerable to abuse and run by a company that has a sketchy reputation for privacy at best. I'll take an international bank transfer over Western Union any day of the week.[/QUOTE]
While I can and have used paypal to accept payment from folks, it's an absolute last resort for several reasons.
1) It takes days to clear.
2) paypal charges me money to use it's "service." I don't know about you but I don't enjoy losing money in a transaction. The only way not to would be to add more money to the total the buyer is sending to cover that cost which I don't think either side would enjoy.
Western Union is immediate, no waiting. The sooner I get the payment, the sooner I mail out the merchandise. Basically how it went with me was I picked up the money at WU, got the packing material needed to mail out the items then went straight to the post office. As soon as I got back to my car I used my phone to message the buyer that it was mailed out and provided the tracking number(s) for the package. All in all, from the moment I picked up the money, it took less than half an hour to mail the item(s) out to the buyer.
Very quick and easy.
Now the banks in your country may advise against it and I cannot speak for every person using WU for these kind of transactions but as you can read from those who have bought from me using WU, I think you'd see they are happy with the outcome.
As for privacy concerns, you truly think paypal is not and would not be subject to the same issues you claim WU has faced?

Perhaps start a new thread asking that question? I didn't know jack either and didn't bother with ebay myself. Sometimes the buyer had more experience than I did and they helped out in some areas during the transaction.

Yeah you might get a quicker response doing that, RS. Post something over in the Personal section.

As per suggestion, made up a new page that ONLY features what I have for sale. Please do have a look and see if anything catches your eye. Thanks.
I purchased multiple Items from Michael this week. All items were as advertised and in excellent condition. We used Western Union to transfer the money. Michael mailed the items promptly by USPS priority mail. Items were carefully packaged in bubble wrap to eliminate any damage during transport. Good prices, good merchandise, and excellent customer service. He is a (Queen) scholar and a gentleman. Do not hesitate to do business with him if you spot something of interest. Sorry to see anyone unload a collection but happy to gain the items.
Best Wishes for Mr. Allred - Steve R.
