There are lots of great write-ups on this site, but this one is particularly interesting because it focuses on a track that has been all but swallowed up by the annuls of history via the number one singles on side A.

Thoughts?
[/QUOTE] Great song and had the most potential for a Brian lead voc song ( save for the bridge) to have been a hit single IMO. Having said that I've often wondered if Freddie did a whole take or if it was just the bridge.
I always loved that song. One of my favourite things about it are the tasty, little bass solos that John plays.

I think The Real Wizard wants our thoughts on the article..?
Sail away Sweet Sister is not really one of my Queen favourites, so I have never given it much thought; but this article made me view it in a completely different light! It does sound really pervy! (the song, I mean). Wonder what was going through Dr. May's head when he wrote it...

Well, it seems pretty clear now..
Can't believe I didn't see it.
Same as Now I'm Here, Brighton Rock and It's Late..

Sail Away Sweet Sister is in my top 10 Queen tracks; brilliant melody, fantastically lifting guitar solo, and such tasty bass parts on the quieter parts of the verses and the outro.

My wife and I listened to it in the car today. Nothing untoward about the plot of the song at all.

That's one thing this band never did was really actually tell you what their songs were about. You had to pick them apart to find out what the writer was revealing. Bo Rhap is a good example. Freddie never told us what it was about but now we're starting get the picture. As The Wizard pointed out, Now I'm Here, Brighton Rock and It's Late are all examples of Brian telling us his stories without really giving it away. Very clever in my opinion.

Carry on with that... what picture are you getting?

Now I'm Here is the clearest song in the world ever.

Maybe it`s just me but that song reminds me of "No one but you"...the music not the lyrics.

Interesting take on it. I always thought it was "hon (ey) child/chile... mock southern black. ....
Wow. I always innocently related it to someone growing up and leaving the flock. Having best friends with sisters I've always equated it with that cart Blanche
Interesting.
Ditto now I'm here as per Mr beans interpretation.
Never thought of that. No wonder it was kinda cryptic
