Certainly NOT a direct transfer of a reel-to-reel tape. More like an upsampling/ bit depth increase of an ordinary CD rip.
Don't know if it's the best sounding or the most complete version, but it's the most expensive CD for sure.

Well it is a direct transfer of a reel t r tape ! Pictures off the tape can be seen on my facebook page.

If this was a cdrip then from what cd were these generations of mtrmr and sad taken from?

The reeltape was brought to a famous dutch studio no amateur work here !

Just downloaded the tracks this morning. Absolutely awesome!! Thankyou so much. Only wish it was the complete series of Rainbow shows. Guess we'll have to wait for the official release. Can't wait if it's true it'll be released this year?

It is impossible to explain the cut at 22kHz without a 16/44 sometime in the lineage.

I had some trouble with this too I couldn't get it working in my traditional media players. I tried to open it in audition and it was asking me for bit rates etc too. I tried to open it at 96000htz and 24bit, It did open but it sounded horrific. It did eventually work when I prompted it to open 32bit float/96000htz using the import/ raw data option.

I did manage to open it easier in Cool Edit Pro after reading the advice here.

As 40th anniversary of two November and March shows was promised release compilation of both November night in new edit, and CD march gig.

What is the max output of a 7,5 ips reeltape ?

7 1/2 ips RTR is flat to 22kHz - 25kHZ and has HF energy beyond 30kHz

This is a genuine RTR transfer the cut off at 22kHz is a natural byproduct of the 7 1/2 ips format.
