I am currently reading the Freddie Mercury Book by Peter Freestone.
In the section about the Hot Space tour he quotes that 'many' concerts from this tour have been filmed.
One example he mentioned apart from the known Milton Keynes and Tokio is Hallenstadion Zurich (I know that excerpts from this concert are a Bonus on one of the DVDs).
Does anybody know more about this?

It's actually Vienna footage on disc 2.
Bits of the Zurich soundcheck were shown on TV.
Beyond that, it's anyone's guess..

Eck...
I could do without hearing that busy mess of a song Staying Power again.
But. .. hey that's good news. It's a shame things probably will never be released

The one thing is that they filmed a lot of shows. The other thing is - What is still there ? Back in the days it wasn`t unusual to use the film tapes several times. So after a show they had a look on what`s filmed - maybe didn`t liked it for somewhat reason - and used that Tape the next night.

Actually, in the 70s in the early 80s it was not commonplace to film for the sake of filming. It was expensive, and Queen almost always lost money on tour to begin with !
So unless it was the odd bit of TV footage being filmed, I think we can be sure that Milton Keynes was the only show that was properly recorded.

^true - Somewhere there is a Queen related statement about the costs of the film tapes/Crew etc. I forgot about the source ( maybe the Doro Guys - even they like to talk much simply because a day got 24 h ?).

Houston '80 & Houston '82 were probably recorded professionally by the venue video crew (like the 1977 concert) but no one has confirmed this assumption unfortunately :( They fall into the ranks of those shows we didn't know if they were fully recorded on video/film or not like Brussels '84, Cologne-Mannheim-Knebworth '86...

Add Sydney 4-25-85 to that list :)
The 1977 soundcheck footage we've seen is most likely from Houston. Has anyone compared the video to images of the interior of the Summit?

These were definitely filmed in full.

Rosario 3-6-81 (?)
Buenos Aires 3-8-81

All I've heard about Rosario is that there might be an 8mm film. Who knows if it's true..
As for 3-8-81, it's just a minute of footage for TV. Definitely not the full show.

Would be great if these were released! Wishful thinking I suspect though :(
I'm particularly interested in buying concert DVD's of the"Live Killers" era, also South America 1981.What is available and what do you all think are the best quality/ most complete (set-wise)??

Don't buy them, as they're not official releases. It's all available for free download here.
Munich 2-11-79
London 12-26-79
Buenos Aires 3-1-81
All fantastic stuff in pretty good quality. Munich is the best quality of the bunch (but also the shortest - just six songs).

what Hot Space Lacked as an album, it made up for on tour...One of the best tours they did...By the way, Staying power rules on live at the Bowl..That's the way it should have been recorded on the album...with improved lryics, it could have been the next big hit/anthem....
