Agreed! It's going really really well! "enough about orientation.. LETS TALK ABOUT THE NEW ALBUM?? IM SO EXCITED"
ADAM LAMBERT ?@adamlambert Mar 31
It's still cookin girl, I can't tell u what ingredients I'm using- you'll just have to wait to taste it when it's good n ready _
ADAM LAMBERT ?@adamlambert Mar 31
What I CAN say about the album is that is a completely post-modern affair. Very sonically diverse and very honest.
ADAM LAMBERT ?@adamlambert Mar 31
Genre is irrelevant. "post-modern pop? post-modern rock? post-modern funk??”
ADAM LAMBERT ?@adamlambert Mar 31
I also wanted to say how much I loved being on @GLEEonFOX this season. I learned so much & had so much fun. Thanks to the cast and fans.

Goodnight loves! ;)

He's been busy with Max Martin in Sweden for months, so I think it's possible the single could be ready sooner rather than later, although it all depends on the album drop timing. I just don't believe he's going to let the window of opportunity afforded by the QAL tour slip by, so I hope for a single before, during, or right after the tour.
Apparently Daughtry performed on the AI results show last night. He and Adam mentored for a week a while back, and I'm quite sure the clause for a performance slot was part of the negotiations for the mentoring bit, at least by Daughtry's team. Adam's situation is different. There's no reason to perform if you aren't promoting something (like a new single). In fact I thought it was odd that Daughtry sang a single that's pretty much dead (Waiting for Superman), rather than introducing a new one. It's sort of a wasted promo opportunity.
Adam has always appeared on Idol every year since his season, and last year it was the finale. I suspect AI is working very hard to get a finale performance by QAL, and that seems most likely, since it would be in May, with the tour ready to start a month later. They won't need new ticket sales, since those are mostly gone now, but there will be plenty of associated sales things to promote. I'll be paying attention to Idol news for that, if nothing else. Their ratings are dropping really fast now, but the audience is still near 10 million - no small potatoes compared to pretty much everything else.
I think a time of feast is approaching, and we'll see a lot of Q+AL things in the months to come.[/QUOTE]

Mark, Thank you so much for writing about (and capturing) this London concert experience for those of us who so long to be there. Unless you’ve ever been to a live Adam Lambert concert, it’s hard to convey what that atmosphere is like. It’s shimmering electrified magic. And it has to be turbo-charged times 3 with Roger and Brian; what a perfect chemistry the 3 of these superstars–actually all 6 musicians–have together on that stage! I’ve been to 4 live Adam Glam Nation Tour concerts: Nashville, Louisville, Indianapolis (Glam Nation Live DVD), and New Orleans. All were seated venues, but no one sits. The only way to describe it is that it’s like an ongoing, unending standing ovation for Adam. I, too, had never experienced anything like this. It’s simply breathtaking. In Nashville, foot stomping on the wooden floor of the Ryman was added to applause, cheers, and screams. At one pt. the sound became so rhythmic and deafening it was like being in a trance. The haunting, deafening sound of a million crickets chirping in the woods at night in the heart of the Great Smokey Mountains is the only other sound I ever heard that I could compare it to. To me Lousiville was his most elegant, adult, campy GNT show. He was in his stride in a beautiful white wedding cake of a recently restored theatre called The Brown, which is Louisville’s opera venue. Like you, I craved pure Adam voice in this place with perfect acoustics. When he sang Soaked I had a fantasy of jumping on stage and ripping his sparkly microphone out of his hands so we could hear that voice straight up with no electronic amplification. (I did consider it briefly, being about 5 feet from ft of stage :). In my experience I would actually rank Adam’s Glam Nation Tour right up there with Phantom of the Opera for sheer sensory bliss. Actually, if I had to choose, I would pick Adam’s GNT. I can’t begin to imagine what it would be like to experience these London concerts live. Queen and their music are simply brilliant. Their music–ranging from operatic, contemporary classical, jazz, blues, folk, heavy metal, to classic rock–is a spectacular feast for ears and eyes. Queen and Adam are a match made in the stratosphere. I have wondered if Dr. May summoned Adam from some distant planet (Fierce), although Adam’s dad, Eber, once said that Baby Adam had been dropped on their doorstep by Gypsies, Tramps, and Thieves ;)."

Well she is certainly enthusiastic. I think she should try her hand at romance novels, though, because she's got flowery hyperbole down pat. It's fun to see a fan's excitement, but I had to laugh at her comparing the loud theatre with a million crickets. In my head that came out as a bit of a contradiction, but it was cute. Just a bit of trivia, did you know that a large percent of romance novelists are men using women's pen-names? True enough. They learn the 'formula', imagine ott romantically-inclined women, and go to town.
Oops, I'm moving my response to the Adam thread - didn't even notice where this was to begin with!
Hey, cool, I just noticed the sub-forum name was changed to Queen + Adam Lambert.
Thanks, Barb!
How have I missed this youtube before -- Adam singing "My Conviction" from "Hair" -- using his operatic voice:

The biggest shocker to me when I went to see Adam Lambert at Foxwoods was how much better he sounds live than recorded. He is amazing recorded don’t get me wrong. But live his voice is like no other voice I have ever heard in concert. It cascades around you, envelops you, caresses you. I told my friend that I felt like I was inside a waterfall of sound.
I have no idea how Adam does this. IMO Adam has the most special voice out there now and I hope with all my being that people around the world start paying attention and go to hear Adam sing live."

It's basically exactly what Meatloaf says when he describes Adam's voice going into overdrive. Cool. I've been watching some of the Hammersmith vids, getting ready and anxious for the NA tour. I'm so glad there are reasonably good and dependable videographers always in the audience, ready to put their vids up within hours. Which venue(s) did you say you'd be at?
eta: I bet at MSG there will be a bunch of celebrities in the VIP sections, and at the Forum in LA and the Joint in Vegas, too. QAL are going to get amazing press coverage! I wonder if they'll leak the set list ahead of time. I'm really curious about the mix.

Re the set list, I really like Born to Love You and think it would work great with Adam's voice. It would be a nice addition to the classics for a starter. Mr.QueenFan posted it on the S. Korea thread in the serious discussion sub-forum. Check it out if you haven't heard it.

Born To Love You, such an uplifting, tune. I love Freddie's and the Queen version...so much so I'd rather not AL even try to tackle it in the upcoming shows. I think AL would lack the sense of "fun" the song has.

I saw that earlier tonight and played it. Brian and Roger sounded great. I wonder if that would work as a trio!

Brian and Roger sing on all the songs to one degree or another.
