vocal harmony: Freddie always won polls on best rock male vocalist, and the likes of
Robert Plant, Dio, Sammy Hagar etc... got left by the way side.
Freddie always outshone everybody and today he is considered the greatest rock showman ever!
Gerry, when it comes to art, or music, polls mean very little in the grand scheme of things.

If you find a poll that has asked the right people you'll always find a result that will suit your thinking.

What about the polls that vote Oasis the greatest band ever, the one that put Bon Scot above Freddie as greatest front man the one that put ANATO in the high twenties of the top fifty albums, the only Queen album in the list. . .

The polls that voted Springsteen, the Stones and Genisis as better live acts than Queen

What about in the 70's when Steve Jones was voted a better musician than BM and the Sex Pistols a better live band than Queen.

Polls are only important to the people who vote or believe in them. They prove nothing

Brenski: Twisted sister have a name for people like you "Sick mother Fuckers" you really are one!
why?
i'd suggest you're the sick one...practically everyone here disagrees with your views on this subject, yet....you are still 100% certain you are right. that's an illness

Yes he was one of, if not the greatest. If you ever saw Van Halen with Dave Lee Roth in the early 80's. Springsteen at any time in his career and Paul Stanley in Kiss' heyday or even the Stones back in the day, they are all people who could give Freddie a run for his money and any fan of anyone of those bands/ artists would say you were wrong. Popular music has never been about how good you are at what you do, Dave Lee Roth is an awful vocalist live, but his contact with and comand of an arena audience was stunning.

Springsteen with his power of delivery still is amazing.

Theirs a lot more out there than just Freddie.

vocal harmony: yes all those artists you mentioned are very good and entertaining although i have not seen them live.
Queen were a band that got my full attention mainly to Freddie and Brian, i was awestruck every time i saw them live, and i remember going to a gig on there "Crazy Tour"
back in 1979 and how Brians guitar hit me in the stomache when i heard how loud he was, it was amazing!
Freddie in black leathers and strutting round May like a flamboyant peacock on heat and doing ballet twists and turns, this group where mega talented and everybody else did not matter one jot to me, Queen reigned supreme.

Holly2003: Yeah "Private Dancer" was a great album with some fantastic songs on it.
The following album "Break Every Rule" had a brilliant rock track on it with Bryan Adams
"Back where you started" as well as "Typical Male"
I saw Tina Turner on her tour in 1996, an amazing performer who would put
todays girl artists to shame!

Even Regina Spektor and Imelda May?

Dude - music isn't a contest. You aren't 18 anymore. Polls and comparisons are for kids. You don't have to slag one artist to reinforce why you like another.

Gerry is very clearly mentally ill. This kind of obsessive behaviour just isn't healthy anymore.

Not really. Both of them, if used wisely, can be valuable learning/teaching/sharing devices which aid human socialisation and progress.

Most silly polls and rankings are not made for kids either, but both by and for ignorant adults.
John hated Hot Space. Frederick's favourite singer was not Paul Rodgers. Roger didn't compose 'Innuendo.' 'Bohemian Rhapsody' hasn't got 180 vocal overdubs.

so your saying www.gocompare.com is childish?
polls are actually a way of seeing what and whom is popular in each given category,
otherwise groups would not win awards if we did not have them!

In music, as I've said before, polls only reflect the people who read them.

In art and music they have no real value. You can search websites and magazines, they will all give you a different view. So yeah Queen may have come out on top in poll x but poll y may have Katy Perry at the top and not mention Queen.

I would have thought the pages of posts on this forum would demonstrate that everyone has a different idea about what's good, bad and indifferent. And past making sure that the person at the top of a poll is the one you want there, the rest represent indifference.

ive noticed on Queenzone they have a poll going at the moment, its the one that asks "Are you happy that Adam Lambert is working
with Queen" ? And 86% of people are! Do we take that for gospel or is it just a bit of fun?????
Guess its the Lambert fan base that voted yes, and the real ardent Queen fans like me that voted no!
