Nah, Delilah.
Yep, Delilah is awful but still not as bad as his performance One Year of Love. Ugh. I wish Brian had sung that one, or maybe a joint effort like Sail Away Sweet Sister.

I like Hang On In There a lot and agree it should have been on the album. I think it goes off a bit towards the end though, which is a shame.
Still, it does have Freddie turning into a trumpet.

One Year of Love is bloody awful, agreed. Excellent example of over singing spoiling a nice ballad. Freddie wasn't always perfect!

A great idea, but at that point in Queen's career, I doubt John would have let Brian sing one of his songs – he didn't even let Brian play guitar on it...

Wow! For me Hang on in There is probably the worst song in the whole Queen discography! Freddie's worst vocal bar none!
Nice start, but goes downhill rapidly after that.
I agree. Especially the line in the middle "Your wish will be granted -All your problems will disappear" sounds almost out of tune.
For me "Hang on in There" and "I Cant Live With You" are his most weak points.
The music/production demands more of his usual power but its not there. He sounds thin.
Perhaps a little later on he evolved his technique around his changing voice due to the illness. Therefore Show Must Go On, Mother Love e.t.c.
As for Dellilah mentioned, the song is light and almost a parody. No need for special vocals.Just camp theatricality and he is off the hook.

OYOL would have been so much better if it was a case of more is less.

While we might disagree on which one is the worst, there is a lot, but not universal, agreement about which songs are the prospective candidates. I notice! the ones that seem to be attracting most attention are:
One Year of Love: I agree! A shocker of a vocal for Freddie!
Delilah: I used to really love this song because of its sentimental vocal and the "meows" at the end by Brian on guitar. But the sentimentality has worn off now unfortunately, and now the strained Freddie vocal ha been sticking out more and more!
and
Hang On In There, a favourite for some, but definitey not mine! Opposite end actually! And if you listen to the original release, it is clear they even pitch adjusted Freddie when he was belting a high note he couldn't reach towards the end of the song. It's been hidden quite well on the recent remaster by softening it to the point where some here think it's Freddie using his head voice. But it isn't!!

To be fair to Fred, One Year of Love is such an inconsequential song that he may have thought it needed some vocal gymnastics to make it interesting. Unfortunately it didn't help and it just comes across as a dull song with sloppy, tasteless vocals.

I am sure that if there wasn't than belting hi- pitched "I am the prisoner of looOOOOve " at 0:38, the fuss about One Year Of Love would be much less.
I remember the 1st time i heard it, and on that "prisoner of looOOOOve" bit i was taken aback.
It was higly dramatic, very powerfull and yet carried some FEMININE HYSTERIA on it.
Just those 2 seconds !
