I was just listening to the 1977 Seattle show (on my awesome little audio player....should start a separate thread about that thing....) and I noticed that just 5 seconds or so into the track Big Spender, before they start playing, you hear a voice saying "thank you Seattle!".......pretty sure it was Mr Deacon actually! I don't remember many other instances of him doing something like that......
I don't remember the exact date, but it's the one with the (incomplete) set of Thin Lizzy as the opening act.......killer show at any rate.....

Very well spotted! For some reason i can´t stop laughing with this. Maybe i´ll use it as my ringtone.
I mean, it doesn´t sound like Brian, Roger or Freddie, so i guess it must be John.
Wasn´t his micro supposed to be off? Now i understand why :-)

And I cant stop laughing at how they had to switch his mic off. Poor john! Did they not trust him to keep quiet? ?;-)

Funny, i liked it. It sounds so awkward.

Sounds like Roger to me. Never in a million years like John who had a far flatter spoken voice which I appreciate is not an absolute guide to how someone sounds live, but there you go.

Yeah, i think it may be Freddie taking the piss. Maybe he´s making his impression of what he thinks people in Seattle sound like. He has the sense of humour to do that!
Either way, it´s very funny : -)

Sorry guys, one only needs to remember that it was Roger who always started off Big Spender (usually with either a scream, or 'It's time to rock 'n' roll'). I've had this bootleg since it was released on vinyl and I have always thought it was Roger. I don't think that JD ever spoke into the mic during any live show that I've heard.
