I don't doubt that he COULD have done it (and it probably would have been pretty cool), but I don't think he ever WANTED to. I think I remember reading some comments saying that around the time BTTL came out.

I grew up in the suburbs of Detroit. Queen played Joe Louis Arena (still standing but defunct and scheduled to be demolished next year, now that the Red Wings have a new arena) in '80 and '82. I never saw any concert...
