I have recently bought some good headphones (audio technica) and have been listening to the first pressing vinyls that I have. Some are Elektra (Australia) and some are EMI. I have a few that look like they were never played and sound absolutely amazing - namely ADATR, SHA and NOTW.
Anyway, listening to WATC and you can clearly hear the extra piano bit start as it is fading out - the bit that is at the end of the different version released with the 40th anniversary of NOTW.
Probably not interesting to most, but after listening to these songs hundreds of times, it's exciting to find something new, no matter how small.

^That's cool, it's not documented as far as I know. Not a major difference but it's yet another insight.

I understand if it's not OK to ask, but is there a chance you could share it that version somehow?

Don't know how I'd do it in a way that would pick this up. It is likely on all releases, all good vinyl copies anyway.

Hmm, I can't hear it on my original UK pressings of the album and single. Although they might be too hissy to hear it?

It's audible on the music video. Just make sure you crank up the volume

Good spot. There's a little bit of piano there -- maybe 2 notes -- but I'm not convinced it's the same as the NotW 50th version. It could just be some random notes.

Yeap, I've heard this on the single version.

I've noticed this before. In fact some fade outs are really interesting.
Take a listen to what I've done. These are excerpts of the last tiny bit of some Queen songs that fade out which you can't hear normally. I've turned the sound up to the max:

1. We Are The Champions
2. You And I
3. Now I'm Here
4. Spread Your Wings

You may want to look at Drowse as well. It seems to have a proper ending. The ending of Now I'm Here is easier to hear in the BBC version

Oh yeah I forgot Drowse. Do you know what Roger says at the very end?

It sounds like he's giving Brian a cue to end the take. It sounds like "Brian May?"

Well spotted !

But indeed, it likely is a different piano flurry.

I'll point you to CMI's versions where we can hear the longest versions which have different fades. I'm fascinated by this sort of thing so very interested in any discoveries.

I can hear that at the end of WATC, on cheap headphones plugged into my cheap laptop. LOL. I'm reminded of Hang On In There, at the end Brian starts playing some lead as it fades out. If my memory serves, there's some version of that somewhere where you can hear a few more notes of it.
I'll take you to the Seven Seas of Rhye
