Or, maybe not.....it's the version on the Miracle that is a few seconds longer than the version on the b-side of IWIA. Guess I got that backwards.

Nice spotted Liam. I personally haven't had a chance to hear it, but actually just put on GH3 on Spotify (despite owning the original cd) and I was amazed by how great "Driven by You" sounded and in fact couldn't help thinking what Freddie would have done with it. Brian was on such a form during those late years of Queen... Even on "Let Me Live" he still sounds great and his guitar makes the track. Would be so interesting to find out how these recordings were really put together. A 25-anniversary box set perhaps? Sorry for jumping from one thought to another.

Check out scandal , the fade out has some good guitar , would love if they had included that and made the track somewhat heavier

Ride The Wild Wind as well. Plus the demo has some nice moments from Bri.

I've noticed this before. In fact some fade outs are really interesting.
Take a listen to what I've done. These are excerpts of the last tiny bit of some Queen songs that fade out which you can't hear normally. I've turned the sound up to the max:
1. We Are The Champions
2. You And I
3. Now I'm Here
4. Spread Your Wings
You may want to look at Drowse as well. It seems to have a proper ending. The ending of Now I'm Here is easier to hear in the BBC version
The last part of the outtro on ADATR has a proper ending too. I suspect people think it just fades out so don't really listen to it...

At the end of Drowse Roger says 'now who else do I like' then there is a voice very low down in the mix and muffled then he says 'Brian May' right at the very end.

I cant unhear the bunch of 'crackles' that happen between the congas at the start of Days of our Lives. Plus the 'long lost guitar' version of DSMN makes the edit in the guitar solo of the original really obvious....

Nice! It's like most songs that end in a fade actually come to an ending within running time, only that they choose to hide it for artistic/personal reasons.
Also of note, off the top of my head:
- Ogre Battle, The March Of The Black Queen and Khashoggi's Ship - no cross-fade standalone versions from Deep Cuts.
- Funny How Love Is (single version), Lily Of The Valley (single version) - no cross-fade standalone versions.
- God Save The Queen (single version), Scandal (preliminary mix) - no fade in, full volume intro.
By the way, some multitracks contain no fade out versions of a number of songs, but I'm not completely sure whether they're all actually like that or bespoke edits. I shared these ones:
- Now I'm Here (all music stops)
- Keep Yourself Alive (long lost retake edit - ends with a capella chorus)
- We Are The Champions (long guitar note ends in full volume)
- Play The Game (all music stops)
- Crazy Little Thing Called Love (all music stops)
- Radio Ga Ga (ends with guitar)
- I Want To Break Free (Freddie sings until the very end followed by guitar effect)

Scandal has the most interesting fade out in my opinion. The guitars change to a tone/riff completely different to what you hear in the rest of the song. Whereas the other ones always seem to be "winding down" but cut off early by the fade out, Scandal doesn't sound like it's ready to end.

I Was Born To Love You (Queen version) also has an ending.

I assumed those no fade versions of PTG and CLTCL were artificial?
Also the stems of Killer Queen reveal studio chat at the end.

Yes, I'm pretty sure all those except for WATC are edits. Still different though.
Brighton Rock, Killer Queen, Bohemian Rhapsody and Get Down Make Love all contain extra bits and studio banter not present in any other versions.
There's a version for "In The Lap Of The Gods... Revisited" that has a rough ending instead of the thunders.

So.... does that now mean that the video for WATC that they filmed for the Bob Harris doc WAS actually them recording? or as we suspect just done for the doc???
