I am not necessarily referring to the best cover but the one that brings something new and stands on his own ground.

My vote goes to   Indigo Sun - You Don't Fool Me

The Tango Cafe Mix is even better

The vocals may be mediocre but the beat and the strings really bring a strong nostalgic vibe.
I like it.

Roger said in an interview that Brittany Murphy's cover of Somebody To Love in Happy Feet is the best.

Sheer heart attack . It's a mess and hard to listen to the live version. That's not to say, being in the audience on that particular night, it wouldn't have worked. It's all about a moment in time.

I always liked Lemmy (from Motorhead) doing TYMD! And let's not forget NIN doing GDML, either.......

for me (not necessarily in this order):

1) stone cold crazy by Metallica
2) 39 by the Swales (on horse feathers & animal
crackers cover album)
3) it's late by Anthrax
4) one year of love by Stevie Ann

I thinks that Valensia's reinterpretation of "I'm in love with my car" as a duet between Freddie Mercury and Kate Bush really has its own soul.

And on the side, I really like his interpretation of The man from manhattan too, especially the guitar work between 1:20-1:30.

And now EXTREMELY interesting fact.

Looking for Anthrax - it's late i found on you tube
News Of The World - Complete Covers Album
It's length is 46:11 including other covers. I placed the curser on a random spot (although i new Its Late  was somewhere towards the end) and voila. The first note of Its late!!!!
The chances was about 1 in 2760 (or 1 in 500 since i knew it was beyond the middle of the video) ...go figure...
