Nope. No way Freddie saw waynes world, missed it by about a year I'd guess.
What makes you think that? Even Meyer's father is said to have seen a rough cut, and he died before Freddie.
You´re right about this. Obviously Brian was talking about a rough cut, or a movie still in production. What he says here is in complete harmony with the what Mike Myers has said throughout the years - he asked for the permission of the band to release this clip. What is new to me is that Freddie saw it and gave his approval. This means that the movie was still in production, not in the theatres.
(P.S.- I was writing this at the same time of The Real Wizard post.)

Obviously some people here have never been to a theatre in the winter where they show previews of films to be shown in the autumn..
I think the issue is deeper than that. This is Queenzone and for some reason people think it´s ok to disrespect Brian in anything he says or do. Because even if people don´t know the concept of previews, that doesn´t give them the right to assume that Brian is lying even when he´s saying that Freddie wasn´t in a good health by then.
But there are 3 wonderfull months ahead of me Queenwise so i´m gonna stay positive, because it´s going to be great again.

As a drummer, I selfishly found it interesting that Roger seems to have moved to much smaller shallow 'hyperdrive' style toms than he has ever used before!!
My money is on that being a backup rehearsal kit while the actual tour kit's already being (or been) packed away with a bunch of the other equipment for transport.

Yeah... Roger can only afford a proper kit and a rehearsal kit....
inu-liger · Member since
How many kits does he own overall, really?

I was just going to say the same!! Even I've got two kits and I'm a pauper!!

Well I guess I just may be wrong!

Looks like Pink Floyd meets Genisis! The round screen idea really does belong to Floyd and Roger Waters. Kind of doesn't sit well with the other bands that have used the idea.
Also the PA looks tiny, although the drum riser looks good!

I can't say for sure but the movie wasn't fully completed in November of 1990, the basement scenes were not done then, I’m pretty sure i read they had to film the first trailer on the Addams family set because of it.
That said, it’s not impossible for him to have seen the bohemian rhapsody scene on a rough cut tape.
but as usual “Freddies approval” line from Brian in my mind is much like freddies love of Paul Rodgers.

You´re right. But that´s gonna be in front of the main stage, because i think that the stage has the format of a turntable, for them to have a catwalk like on Queen + PR tour. I think the design is brilliant by the way. I wonder if this was Roger´s idea since it was told that Roger had come up with ideas for the stage design.

Well at least Roger's returning to the 3 rack tom configuration for sure, and he's got a new bass drum skin to go with it:

the walkway leads down from BHM's side of the stage to a smaller circular second stage. if you look at the big pic of the stage you can see some stands next to the walkway, second kit maybe
i like the staging idea, and the drum riser looks great, much better than the workman like risers used of late.
I'm just not sure about the round screen, with the lights around it.

I know he dropped to two rack toms on the first Q&PR tour, but didn't he revert back to three on all the Cosmos Rocks tour dates?
inu-liger · Member since
Yes he did, and then went back to 2 on the 2012 tour.
