Sure I want to hear it, it'll probably be crap, but I want to hear it. I don't believe anybody here who says they don't.
No. Lambert is pop singer, not rock singer.
Please enlighten me. What about this man makes you say he is not a rock singer?? Because he doesn't have a deep, gravelly voice??
You have no idea how many ladies had to be taken away by glambulances that night. And even a few men.

Seriously? That was just hilarious!

Seriously?? HIs voice is AMAZING in that performance. His showmanship is just an added bonus.

SWLA, have you ever heard the song Whole Lotta Love? If you have and think this is anything close to approaching rock and roll you are mentally ill. As you know, I've been fair to you and and I think you're a nice person. But if you think this slowed down poppy version resembles rock and roll, then wow.

OMG, the Whole Lotta Love cover is HORRIBLE. But his own songs are sung pretty well

I would love to have an album. They are great and they sound fresh.
I believe that the world is ready for some great music again.

SBN,
Perhaps you should look up what defines "rock and roll." Perhaps you are thinking of "hard rock" or "heavy metal."
Adam's interpretation of WLL in this video is a brilliant one, it IS rock and roll and his vocals and showmanship are superb.
does this fit your definition of rock and roll?

You can never convince a Lambert fan of this reality. What sounds like utter shit to an objective rock music fan is like a dog whistle to his fanatics.

When it comes to a new Queen album...
An album with a few more reworked Freddie Mercury tracks and unheard material? Sure. (Isn't that what we've got coming anyway?). The new May/Taylor arrangement of Love Kills, if the YouTube vid I saw was anything to go by, sounds like it'll do justice to Freddie's track. (I never liked the disco backing). I look forward to seeing what else will be on that album.
But an album with a a voice, that, although it hits the notes, it's an essentially a weaker, more run of the mill voice, and at times too forced. No, personally, I wouldn't want that album. And going by Cosmos Rocks, or Fun on Earth, I'd say May and Taylor's best songwriting days are behind them.
Like Paul Rodgers before him, Lambert is a vehicle so the old songs can be heard live once again. And that's all. There's no need for it to go any further than that, especially in light of the fact May and Taylor are reworking Freddie material and in my opinion, like I said, their best songwriting days are in the past. Does Lambert even write his own songs? Even if he did, then it might as well be a Lambert album with May and Taylor backing him. No thanks.
As for this thread, what's the point in trying to sell Adam Lambert to people that aren't keen on his voice? Fans of Freddie aren't likely to be particularly impressed with anything you post of his. He doesn't compare. And yes, people will compare. Just like they compare cover versions of songs, movie remakes and reboots and whatever else. It's what people tend to do.
Is Lambert a rock singer? Not really. Sure, he sings rock numbers. But they come across too cabaret. The one thing that Lambert lacks for me is a good tone to his voice, and after a while it grates. It's a thin voice, a voice that lacks depth. I certainly wouldn't want to listen to it for more than a concert (and I did go see them in 2012). I enjoyed the show. He pulled the numbers off okay. He hits the notes and he does the job. But I was mostly there to see May and Taylor and hear songs that I'd grown up with and still love. But something was seriously lacking.
However, I didn't bother with Paul Rodgers and Queen at all. I find Paul Rodgers voice too bluesy and dull. That's really off putting for me.
But anyway, I've gone off on a bit of a tangent there. But all in all, no is my answer to this question.

imho not really interested in a Q/AL album. slightly more interested in this thing called "Queen Forever" but even that might be pushing it.
fwiw Clutch -- Earth Rocker, etc -- now there's a rock voice. AL doesn't seem to resonate much in his mid-chest and gut, and his color/tone pale in comparison to Paul Rodgers.
I thought the new Love Kills was weak, and Now I'm Here is so overplayed, but will still give attending Detroit a chance
