With the debate split between QAL lovers and haters on here, my mind was cast back to quite a while ago when Brian & Roger recorded a version of watc with Robbie Williams, Roger said they had talked and got seriously close to going on tour ! How would we all have felt about that ? My personal feeling then, and now is that a lot of the Queen cannon of work he just couldn't have done justice to, and also he would have gone down the Freddie karaoke route, if you watch him on stage he desperately wants to be Fred, sawn off mic stand, all the mincing around stage ! No not for me, what do we think ?

Not for me, either. Nor George Michael. Nor Adam Lambert. Because I simply don't like the way they sing. Not Paul Rodgers either because that just didn't really work for me either, even though I do like his voice.

A number of vocalists could probably do the songs justice, but that just wouldn't be as good as the originals. If Brian and Roger are going to keep at it with new vocalists, I would prefer it if they did so with new material.

I have seen Robbie a few times live and I have never seen Robbie trying to be or even act relatively similar to Freddie.

I think some Queen songs would be amazing for Robbie's style but, just like Paul, he would not be able to sing the whole catalog of songs. Also, both Paul and Robbie have a very strong personality with lots of years behind, it would end very much like Q+PR.

With that in mind, I think Adam is a better choice: He can deal with most songs, he is growing like a frontman and to some extent, Adam is taking lots of lessons from Brian and Roger's experience, and they can even suggest how Adam should perform and adapt his style to Queen. Something Robbie would not accept.

That's my opinion.

I wouldn't have minded seeing what Robbie could do. Not a whole tour but maybe a few shows. I'd rather him than PR any day. After 2 huge tours Paul Rodgers still needed an auotcue for most of the Queen stuff he sang

With regards to Brian and Roger touring etc back then with Norman I mean Robbie lol Roger stated clearly it would never have worked as Robbie is not a team player.

'' not a team player'' very true, didn't Gary Barlow say something similar when he bailed from Take That ?

Queen + George Michael in the 90's only...
Or with Peter Straker.

Williams is an odious little turd and I would take Lambert over him any day of the week.

Williams has no where near the vocal range that it would take to tour with Queen. He's a great showman when live, but not a great singer.

In full honesty - Freddie was a great showman but not a great singer on tour quite a lot of the time. Wembley '86 is a great example.
