Usually when there is a "best" and "worst" queen song list, this song always seems to make the "worst" list (and of course then Innuendo album is seen as the best thing ever). I have to say that decision, in my opinion, surprises me - a lot.

Rain Must Fall is in the category of Queen songs that isn't commercial (but so is You Take My Breath Away) The song is vocally an excellent performance, some good phrasing and catchy feel good song. The only thing that might be a bit off is Roger's drumming. But how it makes it into "worst" category surprises me. I'd say the same with "My Baby Does Me", again it fits a certain mood and is quite enjoyable, and even Deliliah, the first two lines make up for the rest of the song.

If I were to pick a "worst" song I'd say maybe…something like "Misfire", "Who Needs You" and maybe one or two on "A Kind of Magic" - some of them were just pointless songs.

Anyway just my opinion but I have to stick up for Rain Must Fall!

I love it too, think Freddie's vocal is wonderful. However, I must admit that it's only been in the last few years that it's grown on me.

Rain Must Fall, Who Need You and My Baby Does Me are songs that I loved since the first time I heard them, but it could be just the fact that all those 3 songs have a latin kind of feeling that Im used to (since I was born in Mexico) so I understand if someone doesnt like them.

I always listen RMF, lol, its one of my favorite songs ever.

I love Rain Must Fall...
My baby does me - not so much.
Delilah, really not a favourite. But it is a very whimsical Freddie track. The 'meows' always make me laugh!

every now again I'm utterly flabbergasted when a given song attracts heavy criticism, usually because, I've been enjoying said song for decades and presumed it was palatable to yer average Queen fan.
Don't lose your head, Delilah, She makes me, etc etc,
This propensity makes me listen anew, just as I do when someone here is gushing, on a particular song or album, it usually results in my liking of the song being reinforced and incredulity at the negative opinions.
But, I guess the Queen community is a rich, unsanatised, tapestry, that's what probably makes it interesting.
Long live Don't lose your head, she makes me and Delilah !

I love Rain Must Fall. Just a great feel-good song and so much fun. Freddie's sounds like he's having so much fun with it. And I just love Brian's "surprise" second solo at the end of the song!

I love the bass and percussion. Too bad Freddie made Roger take most of it out to leave room for vocals (per Roger in an interview with the entire band)

I have mixed feelings about DLYH but She Makes Me and Delilah are amazing!

Rain Must Fall = Scout camp in Torquay 1989. Beautiful memories.

MBDM not so much.

i remember once being on a bus around the same time and this little boy wanted to know what i was listening too (obviously a cassette walkman was big news in Southampton in those days). His dad asked me if i could let him listen. It was Who Needs You and ive never been so embarrassed. They both looked at me like i was some fruit who liked Carmen Miranda and Del Monte.

There is beauty in every Queen song, and best/worst changes with mood.

Good thread that.. if someone snatched your headphones off and listened to the Queen song that was on... which one would make you squirm...? (Apart from Body Language which is a given)

Mine would be Bicycle Race.

@Mooghead: Bicycle Race is a good choise. I also think that one, and I Want to Break Free ... and We Are the Champions - can't sit alone with headphones on a bus and really listen to that one...?

By the way, I think the worst song is Coming Soon.

I think mine would be Delilah. A very eccentric Freddie composition, but kind of flaky to somebody who does not know Queen. Not a good introduction to their music!
And I quite like Body Language! Don't know why everybody is always so down on it.

Delilah, Body Language are well known songs which people criticize. I have not heard people criticize My Baby Does Me. To me this song seems to be a strained effort.
