I never said I don't like rap music. I'm just saying most rappers suck the big one. Same thing with, say, guitarists - most of them are awful, but that doesn't mean I don't like to hear the guitar played well. Now this totally sucks the big one. Lose Yourself or Gangsta's Paradise, however... Now I don't think it fully qualifies as Rap, but this is freakin' awesome:

I don't fancy rap in general. But there's one song that I think is great -

To be honest the only 2 rap "acts" I was till now able to listen to were the Beastie Boys and Dee Dee King, probably because both of them combined hip hop with punk. I personally never liked Eminem

To each his own, I guess. If people play Beastie Boys at me, it mostly just makes me want to tell them state secrets so they'll stop.

This 19 year old makes his living by writing rap songs about being a coke dealer. It's just ... amazing beyond words.

I always thought of The Beasties as mainly a rock band, anyway............I dont listen to rap much anymore, but I do like Eminem........and for a while back in the 90s I was always hearing Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg everywhere..........

I kinda hesitate to admit it now but back in the late 80s or so I was quite the fan of DJ Jazzy Jeff and The Fresh Prince...........(I heard that last guy had a bit a movie career later......)

And hey............its not really what you'd call rap, but the inspiration to and source of samples to a ton of rappers......I do love some P-Funk...........especially some of those old Funkadelic albums.........

I think rap is "interesting" music. I like many artists and songs, but I can't picture myself or anybody listening to rap when we're 65 years old.

I can only think of rap as a form of entertainment but not music, it's just lyrics murmured in monotone without any sense of music.
